A dangerous, widespread heat wave is predicted to unfold for millions across the Northeast and Midwest next week with AccuWeather RealFeelĀ® Temperatures even approaching the 100-degree Fahrenheit mark in some cities.
"The increased demand for cooling is going to be a problem here. This could have some impacts on the power grid," AccuWeather Chief Video Meteorologist Bernie Rayno said.
In the Midwest and Northeast, a heat wave is considered to be at least three days with a high temperature of at least 90 degrees, and for some areas, the mercury will exceed that benchmark for most or all of the week.

Summer...June 1980 was a good one to look at before one says this is the worst.
To paraphrase an old ad for a swimming pool company here in Indianapolis, “It’s summer, it’s hot, you need a pool.”
Geez, people it’s mid-June, it gets hot in the Midwest and the East this time of year. It may be hotter in July and August. Didn’t see Accuweather ranting about how cold it was around here the last two weeks, 10-15 degrees below average. All they did then was go on and on about hot it was out west.
High temps and high(er) CO2 make for bumper crops of most of out developed crops. Not all, but most.
This partially explains why the global warming tyrants/scammers want to lower CO2 — to increase starvation.
Summer of 1980 I worked for the Texas Highway Department. Road work. Patching potholes with hot tar. Picking up roadkill. Burned the soles off of my boots. Fun times.
Our greenhouses still preserve C02 in them to sprout starter plants for planting crops. Pumps up the growth rate rather well. Good post. And Ronald Reagan was castigated for a simple biologically sound observation of this many years ago! now these bozos try to say basic chemistry has changed.
Human beings are major “carbon units”— this is some nazi crap isn’t it?
AH, memories! Sleeping in a hot upstairs bedroom, no AC, just a box fan moving the hot air around! How did I ever survive? LOL!
Meanwhile in Florida...
3 days of 90 degrees? HaHaHaHaHaHaHa(inhale...inhale)HaHaHaHa!
