Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., led 28 other Republicans in a scathing rebuke of Attorney General Merrick Garland and the New York "show trial" against former President Trump.
"The conviction of President Trump in Manhattan is nothing short of the evisceration of the American judicial process," the lawmaker wrote in a Wednesday letter. "In their zeal to imprison Donald Trump, Democrat prosecutors successfully dissolved the constitutional protections afforded to defendants and the barriers that protect every American from the abuses of arbitrary rule."
"Even if we disregard Judge Juan Merchan’s financial contributions to Democratic candidates and causes, the prosecutors were permitted to convert alleged time-lapsed business records misdemeanors into felonies because the records violations were supposedly in furtherance of a second crime. Yet, even after the jury rendered its verdict, we do not know what constitutes that specific second crime," Paul wrote.
He further pointed the finger at President Biden's administration, calling it "complicit in the destruction of due process of law."

Rand is a leader... And some say he doesn't support Trump
we have about 1 good senator. And we have alot of turds in the punchbowl like Romney and Murkowski
There us more than 1 I like Vance for example.
less talk, more rock.
Now do something about it.
Too little too late.
The US Supreme Court could—and should—save the USA and the American People. Unfortunately the justices are asleep at the wheel. Maybe they simply lack the moral and intellectual clarity to rise to greatness—and when America desperately needs greatness.
Day late and a dollar short
A little late, don’t ya think?
Perfect is the enemy of good.
Romney is infinitely preferrable to Schumer.
Barr is infinitely preferrable to Garland.
I would prefer a Senate with 100 Rand Pauls to the current mess, but that is not in the cards.
BTTT
More intelligent Americans should be speaking as passionately as Senator Rand is at the destruction of America’s legal system.
And yet he still hasn’t decided to endorse Trump or help him campaign. What a guy! And no. Writing a sternly worded letter is not leadership.

Better late than never.
All I ever hear Paul talking about is Fauci.
words, just words.
That’s my fear too. It is a political court.
When America and the world need greatness, the Supreme Court is shackled with mediocrity. Maybe they will find within themselves the resources they need to rise to their responsibility. Pray that they will before it's too late.
