The US has agreed to send a second Patriot system to Ukraine, according to reports.

Ukraine has been given a handful of the missile systems from its allies, but says it needs more.

Patriots help stop Russian attacks, but Ukraine's allies are reluctant to reduce their own arsenals.

A second US Patriot system is headed for Ukraine following appeals for further air defenses, according to reports.

The MIM-104 Patriot missile system has been hailed as a major success in Ukraine, shooting down Russian missiles and aircraft as Ukraine fights back against Russia's invasion.

Putin cannot afford to agree to the status quo ante. If he does, he is effectively a dead man.

So true. After 1991 Moscow utterly failed to establish what historian Timothy Snyder calls a "succession principle". Putin cannot even resign, because it'll be a political melee when he goes, like what happened after Lenin died.

I'm on your side, with Ukraine's NAZIs, Chad.

Your post needed a /sarc tag, maybe.

More please. Unable to make any more progress on the ground, Putin now plans to defeat Ukraine by destroying its' power grid from the air. This has to be stopped.

US military would have destroyed the electric grid within the first month

Why now? We could have given them this earlier. One conclusion to draw from this is that Ukraine is losing. We have to keep it going.

Another is we haven’t reached “the end of history” unless God desires it.

I have asked repeatedly what does it mean to be a nazi these days, conversely we can look at the actions and behaviors of the ww2 nazis and compare them to countries and leaders today

Putin may not call himself a Nazi, but his actions very much are nazi like

First and foremost Ukraine is the largest rat money laundering op in history. We might see movement to end this mess after the election…maybe.

“The V-1 was history’s first mass-produced cruise missile. Each could carry a 1-ton warhead nearly 250 km (160 miles) at a cruising speed of 650 km/h (400 mph).

“Each V-1 cost about 5,000 Reichsmarks or $2,000 in 1944 (that’s the equivalent of about $27,000 today). The 21-foot-long flying bombs were made mostly from sheet metal and plywood. Each took about 350 labour-hours to produce. Concentration camp inmates and slave labourers toiling at the Gerhard Fieseler Werke plant in Kassel did most of the assembly work.”

“eventually radar-controlled batteries and proximity-fuse shells became available. By the end of the summer, three-quarters of V-1s launched against Britain were being brought down by flak.”

“The five-foot long, 93-pound rockets were fired from the ground via large steel racks consisting of multiple adjacent launch rails....designed to be bolted onto the back of ordinary utility trucks.... Pre-war testing showed that just four such trucks could unleash the firepower equal to 75 field guns onto a 1.5 square-mile patch of ground in less than half a minute.”

You guys do not understand.

There is no history.

Only on one occasion in the past did it become clear how oil and gas defined civilization. That is when FDR embargoed oil exports to Japan. Pearl Harbor derived from that. Japan has no oil. It had to come from Indonesia, and the US fleet could interdict.

We now have Russia overwhelming. Saudi Arabia has nearly no natural gas output. Download from the link above. That is why it is the bible of energy. It has everything (and btw, they publish June each year so the new release is pending) country by country. Saudis have 297 billion barrels of oil reserves, but only 6 Trillion cubic meters of gas. Russia is overwhelming with 37 Trillion cubic meters of gas and 110 billion barrels oil.

Nothing Else Matters. It is civilization’s lifeblood. It will run short for everyone else, but not for them. There has never been a time when such inescapable dominance existed. Putin has been quoted back in the 2010s. He has given speeches at Rosneft and GAZPROM. HE KNOWS. He knows it is inevitable — provided they hold onto it and not tolerate threats to it.

Forget morality and ethics. Oil and Gas are everything and this is the wrong enemy to have for 20 yrs from now.

“Hitler did not stop with the Sudetenland.”

You have it backwards. Putin learned the lesson of Munich. And expansionist aggressive socialist entity cannot be appeased. NATO expansion into Ukraine was an actual redline.
Rather than acting like Chamberlin and trying to appease NATO, Putin stopped them. He tried to talk, but could see there was no appeasing NATO and their Nazi minions.

Sure. Putin thought he could roll over Kiev in three days, and begin the project of reconstructing the Soviet Union. NATO, a purely defensive alliance, was no threat to a Russia content within her borders. He has only justified the Baltics’ and Poland’s fear of Russia, and succeeded in stampeding Finland and Sweden into NATO after seventy years of strict neutrality.

Good job, Vlad.

So proceed with whatever theories based on these indisputable facts.

Good post.

Russia didn’t invade Ukraine over natural resources or economics. They invaded because they don’t want a hostile western puppet on their border from a country with a pro Russian history.
