US Secretary of State Antony Blinken condemned Hamas for refusing a UN-backed cease-fire proposal, saying the terror group could have halted the war in Gaza with a single word.
Speaking from Qatar on Wednesday, Blinken pointed out that the current proposal is nearly identical to the one Hamas itself proposed last month, accusing the terrorists of prolonging the war just to insert more demands that undermine the ongoing peace talks.
“It was a deal that Israel accepted and the world was behind. Hamas could have answered with a single word: ‘Yes,'” Blinken told reporters in Doha.
While he did not go into the specific demands that Hamas is now making, the secretary of state described some of the requests as “workable,” while others were clearly nonstarters.

Every single time that the PLO, or Hezbollah, or Hamas or the Taliban have been given what they asked for, they turned around and said NO, seeing in the other side weakness.
The Islamists see any kind of compromise as weakness and believe they are winning when the other side offers compromises. The Israelis know this, gave them what they asked for, and they said no. Predictable, and allows the Israelis to keep kicking their can back into hades.

Yet some who expressed great concern over the suffering of the Palestinian people in Gaza, including countries with the capacity to give a lot, have provided very little – or nothing at all,” Blinken said without naming specific countries. “It is time for everyone, everyone, to step up.”
The new $404 million in funding from the US will go toward “food, safe drinking water, health care, protection, education, shelter, and psychosocial support,” according to a media note from the State Department.

The entire Biden administration lies to our faces and promotes a narrative that an idiot could debunk. America’s gravitas and international reputation is in tatters.
Biden gave them the nod for the Gaza bloodshed by hammering Israel with no support or else deal.
The problem that Blinken and the Biden Administration have with trying to put together a deal is that each side wants an agreement where the other side no longer exists. Not sure there room for diplomacy with that kind of demand. And it’s ridiculous that Blinken doesn’t have a clue about who he’s dealing with.
