He probably hasn't studied German or Russian. In English, gender applies only to pronouns. In German, it applies to nouns, and in Russian, gender also applies to verbs. The gender of most nouns in Russian is obvious by their spelling, but unfortunately, that's not the case for German.

What kind of unprincipled thought asserts a person’s feelings negate the individual’s Right to express a thought? With our schools destroying the child’s ability to think in principles before the age of 14, there will be no citizens left to defend the Individual Rights upon which this country is founded. Just a mob of hurt feelings trumping other hurts feelings. Mob rule here we come.
The only concept that went back thousands of years was the use of "gender" as describing M and R sex (biological) and also as it was used in the study of science or languages.
It wasn't until the 70's when "gender" became a social construct when describing M and F, i.e., the word can mean as "we think fashionable".
Notice also the trend is now to refer to an individual's sex not in terms of biological but in terms of, "assigned sex at birth"...how cute.
Actually in modern English there are no grammatical genders, only holdovers in sex based pronouns and masculine generalizations (eg mankind, man, and using he/him as a pronoun for an unknown person).
The idea that some people do not fit into just two sexual or gender categories that are attracted to the opposite one does go back thousands of years, all over the world, and long before science existed.
Why would religions invented thousands of years makes rules restricting behavior that didn’t exist?
If I recall the Supreme Court ruled on this around the Vietnam era. They said something to the effect that the kids “free speech rights do not end at the schoolhouse gate”.
ChatGPT helped me find it: Tinker v. Des Moines Independent Community School District in 1969. That case involved wearing black armbands. Hard to see much difference here with this T-Shirt. If there is a law or rule that defines multiple genders it is political and the kid has a right to protest that rule. Surprised an appeals court didn’t uphold the Tinker case.

One of the problems is that educators are telling students lies and requiring students to pretend they believe the lies.
This is wrong at every level. One important thing schools should be doing is teaching children how to think; and how to confront bullies that force children to go along with sexual deviancy.
Schools and union teachers are increasingly on the wrong side; the wrong side of everything.
That said, parents should take their children out of these school systems immediately; don’t fiddle around with loser government systems. They are dangerous and can’t be reformed.
