There us a whole quantum lot more ignorance about the use of firearms than I thought
Firearms? I thought you were writing about forearms. And Alex Baldwin.
Do you even read what you vomit onto this forum? Your grasp of the topic is about as firm as a soggy noodle. Try proofreading next time; it might help your argument hold a bit more weight.
Menace to society, terminate his dumb ass.
What a concern control you are over the fact that the accused in this and all cases is innocent until proven guilty. He has an adequate defense, and now you have your sphincter tied up all in knots?
Parse your own typing skills. You are wound up tighter than a church clock on Sunday. BUahahahahahaha!
YOu are now an aspiring Free Republic grammer/typing cop! A Fuzz beyond concept.
Piss off and go harang someone else.
“So if a stranger walks up pointing a gun at me, I must comply or die?”
Uhh, he’s got a gun.
It’s like I told my kids about driving....
So you’re stopped at an intersection and the light turns green but there is a big truck barreling into the intersection. Are you going to wait on the truck or go? Kid says “Go, cuz I have the green light”. Yeah, so when they pull your mangled body out of the car you’ll be able to say “...but I had a green light. I was riiight....”
What I don’t see is whether the “toy” airsoft gun had the required orange tip on the barrel which is intended to prevent tragic situations like this.
Was the orange tip removed or colored black to make a toy look more realistic and possibly deadly?
If so, why was this done? Was it just a kid’s macho fantasy, or was it something more sinister?
* grammar
I can see how what you posted has exactly nothing to do with what I was saying.
The guy murdered an innocent teenager without provocation.
The phrase you’re looking for is “Yield to tonnage. “
"The King County, Washington, Prosecuting Attorney's Office has charged a man with second-degree murder and assault, both felony counts, for allegedly shooting a teen he thought was holding a gun and who he believed was about to rob a sporting goods store."
Sounds like that's what happened to me.
Maybe he believed that, maybe not - why would you make assumptions without knowing?
Also: “Investigators stated in their report that surveillance footage of the incident appeared to contradict some of Myers’ statements.”
It doesn't make much sense to question what somebody tells you, when they tell you that is what they believed. What you are really doing is calling that person a liar. So, is that what you are doing? He is on record as saying that is what he believed. So, if you don't think he believed that, what evidence do you have to the contrary? That would take the ability to read his mind. I don't know of anyone who has that power.
I will remember you said that! Now, do you you take EVERYONE at their word or just, you know, some people?
It depends upon the circumstances under which they gave their statement. If they made a statement that they would later have to prove, I would tend to put a lot of credibility in that statement. It was his statement that he believed a holdup was eminent, and he appears to be stacking to it. Under weight of law, he may have to back up that statement, and he appears to be doing it. On the other hand, if you have the magic ability to read peoples' minds, then a fortune is out there for you.
What do the answers to those questions have to do with anything?
I think they could factor into how a jury decides the case and into the degree of any punishment meted out.
There was no cop involved in this incident. It almost sounds like the kid, if he had had a real gun, would have been justified in shooting the man.
