Sen. Rand Paul 'supportive,' but hasn't endorsed former President Donald Trump
Spectrum News ^ | June 5 | BY ERIN KELLY

WASHINGTON — Like every other Kentucky Republican on Capitol Hill, Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., criticized the New York criminal case that ended in a guilty verdict for former President Donald Trump.

Paul posted on social media, “This verdict will tragically undermine Americans’ confidence in impartial justice. A sad day for America.”

Yet unlike Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., and most of the commonwealth’s Republican congressmen, Paul said he has not yet decided whether to endorse Trump.

“I think that it’s important that if he wants to get my vote and my support and wants me to be more active in this, that he’s going to have to be more vocal on things like the lockdowns that I opposed, like the civil liberties abuses that I opposed, like the debt, which frankly, has been bad under Republicans and Democrats, so I’m looking for a little bit more before I make a final decision,” he told Spectrum News Tuesday.

“I’m supportive of Donald Trump, but whether or not I take an active role, endorse and go out and campaign for him is something that’s yet to be determined.”

Questions to Freepers:

● Is Rand right to hold out like this?

● Do you have faith Donald will lay out detailed plans to address these concerns soon?

● Do you feel the same way as Rand?

He’s is privileged. God help others if they did this. I think he should not be given any leeway that we don’t give others. He should be vilified as all the others who don’t immediately endorse president Trump. Why should he get understanding?

Most pols are not going to question the “Science”, including Trump. But Rand knows the boondoggery of the Plandemic.

Rand’s hobby horse is that he is a libertarian. Trump isn’t.

Wake up Rand Paul. WHAT is the alternative? STOP being coy. WHAT is YOUR great plan? WHO do you “represent”?

I admire much about Rand. He will eventually endorse and campaign for President Trump. I think he is just trying to point out some of the things that are particularly important to him. The average IQ in Congress is much lower than most people realize (I know someone who has served there ... average IQ there is shockingly low). Pretty-people with good people skills, or moron constituents, get elected to Congress and embed themselves sometimes for life. Rand is intelligent and thoughtful. Is he perfect? No one is. But I think he loves the country and I wish there were more like him in Congress.

Fauci and pharma killed, destroyed, crippled millions worldwide. Questioning them will never be justice. American killing of innocent humans.

He would say he represents the people of the Commonwealth of Kentucky.

Those people will vote Trump so Rand will support him but he doesn’t sound thrilled.

This must be down to the debt and spending issue.

Ironically their other senator won’t support him for the opposite reason.

Are the citizens of the Commonwealth wavering on Trump?

If he waits too long to endorse Trump his endorsement will be meaningless.

Waiting for Trump to vouch to cut spending before endorsing is silly considering it’s his institution that keeps increasing the budget. Not really on the President.

The only significant flaw in the Constitution is the Great Compromise and made even worse by the 17th Amendment. It is the senate at large that is a significant reason this country is in the mess it is in.

Look at the dems and their preferential presidential choices and you need not to go back far, Biden, Obama, Cankles, Kerry, Gore and this is just the finalists, how about Harris just for ‘giggles’ and that’s just the beginning.

Rather than bash Paul for certain issues or a particular vote a reminder is in order to state how sick these omnibus bills are, that goes for Congress too. The sickness we see in our country today wasn’t brought about by Paul, Trump etc. but the redistribution of wealth largely stamped by the senate, Paul (like many) is a victim of this. The Founders didn’t envision that someday in the future the senate would be controlled by a political party rather than the resident of a particular state, that’s my answer.
