BREAKING: NY Judge Merchan Informs Lawyers of ‘My Cousin is a Juror, Trump is Getting Convicted’ Facebook Post Left on NY Court Page, Pre-Verdict.
In a new development in Trump’s Manhattan “hush money” case, Justice Merchan has communicated to the involved parties about an incident involving a comment left on the court system’s Facebook page. The comment, left on May 29, one day prior to Trump’s conviction, reads: “My cousin is a juror and says Trump is getting convicted 🎉 Thank you folks for all your hard work!!!! ❤️”
The fact that the judge has written to the involved parties may indicate truth to the inside knowledge of the poster. The letter from Justice Merchan reads, in full:
Today, the Court became aware of a comment that was posted on the Unified Court System’s public Facebook page and which I now bring to your attention. In the comment, the user, “Michael Anderson,” states:
The comment was no longer visible when checked by The National Pulse.
Theoretically, if the comment is found to be true and a juror was discussing the verdict of the case with their cousin, Justice Merchan could rule a mistrial. Given his record of rulings against Trump and his daughter’s financial stake in the case, this is unlikely.
Maybe Merchan is looking for an out. Maybe the powers that be see how the whole thing has backfired politically and have instructed him to find a way to walk back the decision. Just a theory.
I see it as just one more example of the damage that social media is doing to our country, our families, our friends and I don’t need anyone to tell me that FR is social media. I wonder when the last time was someone quoted a FR thread in the news cycle that caused problems...so spare me please the same admonition...
This is ripe to cause problems with people’s lives. I don’t have a solution - I only know from experience with people who LIVE by Face Book postings that it’s not good or healthy! Personally or nationwide...

I’ve never seen any news reports that says SOMEONE on a site called Free Republic posted such and such and it could cause a lot of damage....I don’t think the same can be said of FB or X. How could it be enforced? Beats me but this is only the beginning IMO.
Seems as if this country has to find out the hard way that some new ideas are really going to do damage that can’t be repaired with people getting hurt. Can we live without FB or X? Can we live without smart phones? It’s not like the Model T automobile which advanced the country and populace..Lots of grumbling but who or what was damaged? Except the horse and buggy.

Shouldn’t that be an immediate mistrial and considered jury tampering?
And wasn’t the juror asked if he was related to anyone involved with the case? Did he lie or did they let him on anyways?
Where are the charges against this *judge*, the juror, and the lawyers selecting the jury?
This is such a travesty of justice that it’s appalling.

There is no way they will try, or even want to walk this back.
With the FL and GA cases on ice likely past the election, they are desperately looking for a way to damage Trump (& his supporters) even more. This is their "best bet" save for sending Trump (& by extension, his Secret Service detail) to prison.
Especially since they see the continued financial and polling support Trump is getting post 1st round conviction.
This is a way for them to get a redo (because of mistrial) in order to keep Trump off the campaign trail through the summer and longer if need be.
Remember, these people are evil. They hate this country and everything it stands for and have been looking, starting with the colossal mistake known as Soebarkah, for a way to "fundamentally change" this country.
They are well on their way as of now.
If they end up in mistrial it puts the spot light on the juror until well after the election and then all will be forgotten...

Mistrial >> Retrial >> Trump tied up again for even longer
If they do declare a mistrial and try for a second trial to keep Trump off the campaign trail, there is no way they can deny a change of venue this time.
That said, there is also no way they could survive an "interfering with the election" charge if they try to squeeze this in before the election. The rush to trial would be proof that it is political and not "justice."
That's why they are stuck with waiving this off as no big deal.

If the judge has knowledge of the post he is obligated to report it whether he thinks or knows whether it’s legitimate or not.
