In an incident in Lufkin, Texas, one man lost his life in an overnight shooting shortly after being discharged from the Angelina County Jail. The deceased convict, identified as Jarvis Houston, 47, met a fatal fate when he encountered a man at a business establishment on East Lufkin Avenue, where the man was present with his wife and infant.
According to reports, Houston approached the family as they sat inside their vehicle at the business location. Despite being warned and even offered an alternative vehicle, Houston allegedly attempted to steal the car, prompting the man to open fire, resulting in Houston being shot. The fatal encounter unfolded less than an hour following Houston’s release from jail on charges related to assault and family violence.

Sec. 9.42. DEADLY FORCE TO PROTECT PROPERTY. A person is justified in using deadly force against another to protect land or tangible, movable property: (1) if he would be justified in using force against the other under Section 9.41; and
(2) when and to the degree he reasonably believes the deadly force is immediately necessary:
(A) to prevent the other's imminent commission of arson, burglary, robbery, aggravated robbery, theft during the nighttime, or criminal mischief during the nighttime; or
(B) to prevent the other who is fleeing immediately after committing burglary, robbery, aggravated robbery, or theft during the nighttime from escaping with the property; and
(3) he reasonably believes that:
(A) the land or property cannot be protected or recovered by any other means; or
(B) the use of force other than deadly force to protect or recover the land or property would expose the actor or another to a substantial risk of death or serious bodily injury.

Yes, there are laws here that give you the right to protect your property with deadly force under some conditions.
I just don’t get it. There must be blacks who are raised without ever being told people don’t work and save to purchase stuff, just to stand by and watch another person take it for themselves.
