As the Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation commemorates the 20th anniversary of the former president's death, both the pressing challenges facing Americans in 2024 and the milestone 80th anniversary of D-Day are front of mind for foundation leaders.
"It's valuable to reflect on the tremendous successes of the Reagan presidency and to draw lessons for today," foundation President David Trulio told Fox News Digital in an interview. "So, it's important to recall that President Reagan won the Cold War. He unleashed an enormous economic boom. He helped restore America's pride in itself, and he restored and earned the respect that other countries had for the United States."
Trulio said the dawn of the Reagan era – the late 1970s into the early '80s – was a time of "very significant economic challenges" in which "inflation was terrible" and a communist mindset began to seep into America's consciousness.

Many people have very short memories as they claim Trump is our greatest president ever. Yes, Trump is great, but Reagan was greater.
And on the flip side, Obama and Biden are evil, but Johnson tops the list as the worst.
Then there are those clueless ones who claim Jimmy Carter was the worst. Sheesh.
I liked Bush 41 but I get in trouble for that lol
I like Poppy also. Except for that CIA/Kennedy assassination thingie that he knew of....
And other things like the Bush/Clinton alliance.
Reagan at Normandy in his unforgettable speech honoring "The Boys of Pointe du Hoc."
Recently, I've noticed a few posters here trying to tarnish Reagan's legacy. You have to wonder why they are even here. I consider him the greatest president of my lifetime.

What an amazing man.
Amen!
thank you President Reagan.
God bless President Reagan.
Maybe in sheer incompetence as opposed to intentional, traitorous malfeasance.
Never did I get the impression that Carter genuinely hated the Americans in flyover country.
I miss him too and sadly wonder how we (collectively as the entire American people over these last 20 years) let it all go so wrong. Where did that country go, the one that elected President Reagan twice in sweeping victories? It hurts me a lot to think of how far we have let the country fall to where it is today. From a nation whose president demanded, “Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall,” to a nation today almost totally run by communists and elitist oligarchs.
It died of old age. The WWII veteran retirees that made California solidly red in the 1980s were all gone by 2000.
US Secret Service Uniformed Division was there...One of the officers told me to throw away my plastic water bottle before I could walk by the casket...

I guess you haven’t noticed that the worst RINOs and GOPe and NeoCons like Nikki Haley want to go back to “Reagan Republicanism”.
I wonder why that is ?

Which part do you like the best ?
The 1990 Clean Air Act which is the legislative basis of the entire CO2 nonsense ?
Or the Americans with Disabilities Act which is the legislative basis of Tranny Rights ?
Or the 1991 Civil Rights Act which overturned eight conservative Supreme Court decisions and is also the basis for LGBT lawsuits against employers ?
Or how about endorsing what happened at Ruby Ridge ?
How about supporting NAFTA ?
They would have opposed Reagan in 1980.
They did oppose him because of other issues in 1980.
But one of the reasons they claim him now is because of THIS (advocating for open borders, and against a Mexico Wall)
at the prompt.

That was his big mistake, and he admitted he got rolled.
