If this kid had an outstanding arrest warrant because he became violent with his sister, I suspect that they didn’t go get him because they knew that he had somehow not been given his meds at the right time.
Why couldn’t there just have been a note explaining that the guy is stable when he’s properly medicated so if there’s a problem make sure to give him his meds?
That would have been safer for all involved.
And as AppyPappy brought up earlier, the cops are not allowed to give sedatives that could help a lot. I understand that those could be abused and that there could be drug interactions that contra-indicate the use of sedatives. But training could help a lot. And media and activist groups stopping their lying about things like George Floyd could help a lot too. The police training was that subduing somebody in the throes of fentanyl overdose is to keep them from being physically agitated which makes them unable to breathe and ultimately kills them before they can get to a hospital where drugs can be given to get them past the dangerous point. Drugs that the police at one time were allowed to have on hand but no longer had available because of “pro-Black activists”.
The George Floyd case was a very teachable moment. But alas, politics ALWAYS comes before human life. Sick.
He was arrested because he was banging his head on the walls.
