Steve Bannon Suggests Jim Jordan and James Comer Are Bought
Newsweek ^ | Rachel Dobkin

Posted on 06/01/2024 9:32:40 PM PDT by joesbucks

The conservative talk show host called out House Judiciary Committee chair Jim Jordan of Ohio, House Oversight Committee chair James Comer of Kentucky and House Speaker Mike Johnson of Louisiana for not doing enough to help the MAGA cause.

"Once again. I beg of you. Where is Jim Jordan, where's Comer, where's Polly Pockets Johnson. Where are the subpoenas? Where is an investigation? Why are people not being held accountable? Why does it take [conservative activist] Mike Davis and [former Trump aide] Kash Patel and the same people over, and over, and over again. [Former Republican Nevada attorney general candidate] Sigal Chattah...Why does it take them pounding, pounding, pounding," Bannon said.

He cannot allow people to remain in positions where they can subvert his agenda. He failed to do that last time...

We know from his prior record he can "hire and fire"; his instincts as a competent leader enable him to do so when he has reason to believe a subordinate is irreversibly incompetent.

We also knew how motivated the Dems were to impeach him for even an imaginary misstep.

We, nor his team, did not know how many Rino's would be available to assist the Dems with their several attempts to impeach him.

We also do not know is what his "trusted and reliable" R inside advisors were recommending as to which were to be hired and fired and what kind of damage might the Dems been able to do in response.

It doesn't seem appropriate to pass judgment on any firing "failure" at this point, and until an insider writes a book we do not have the benefit of hindsight in this regard.

Fortunately, with the many things he accomplished while in office, I think it's clear Trump successfully served his apprenticeship as President.

You say, "Trump will need to clean house right away, without any hesitation lest the GOPe talk him out of it."
You are correct; and it will have to be a "deep cleaning".

The opposition will do everything possible to avoid completing that, but it's our nation's best option.

Jeff Sessions. William Barr.

Both monumental disastrous personnel decisions. Trump simply cannot allow people like that in key positions this time.

One weakness Trump has (nobody is perfect) is his huge ego. It appears that people can ingratiate themselves with him by flattery. We need fighters, not sycophants.

Its going to be hard for a one term limit president to attract good people to come into the DC Swamp and push his agenda. I hope he can successfully do that, but its going to be a real challenge for him.

We need fighters...

Can you name a more capable fighter on the R bench than Trump, one with both a domestic and international score card?

...Trump [has a ] big ego.

Many world champion fighters (in any field) have such an ego, it is big part of how they made it to the top rank.

IMO, one would have to be a trained medical professional to say, as you do, that an individual such as the most powerful man in the world who has ample personal assets along with a big ego, could be a sycophant. And then, perhaps, only a professional who was able to properly clinically evaluate a patient.?

But you, like me, are allowed to give Trump all the free advice you want (so long as you vote for him). [;^)

No clue, but this is Polly Pocket.

Like Barbie, she went from being a child's toy to a media character.

You have to have a big ego to put up with all the crap that comes your way.

Why does it take them pounding, pounding, pounding," Bannon said.

Because when that's all you've got, you pound the table. I'm not saying there isn't a case against Biden or whoever, but it's not easy to do things in Congress especially when your majority can be counted on the fingers of one hand.

At the end of the day, Jordan’s votes on various bills coming before the house are more productive than his liberal house GOP counterparts.

Of the 200-some liberal GOP members, I really can’t cite one instance where they have done anything productive.

You completely misinterpreted what I said which was “It appears that people can ingratiate themselves with him by flattery. We need fighters, not sycophants.”

I never said or suggested that he was sycophant. I was referring to those people that he might hire to work for him, the point being he needs to hire people who relish political combat because that’s what its going to take.

I also dispute your ‘medical professional’ argument. It doesn’t take a psychiatrist to see that he’s got an outsized ego, and its well known that people with such traits love flattery. It may have served him well in the business world, which is all about profits, but in the political world is all about power and persuasion.

I’ve donated bigly to Trump and like the way he fights the Swamp and tries his best to do the right thing for the country. That said, he’s not a god that’s above criticism. Nobody is.

You completely misinterpreted what I said,,,

Thank you for trying to clear that up.

You changed the terms of my "medical argument" and, in doing so, present a different argument, that Trump's hiring decisions were prompted by flattery by virtue of a big ego. Three very big assumptions there.

That said, he’s not a god that’s above criticism. Nobody is.

Thank you for that information. You will have to excuse me if I happen to think it generally unwise for one to criticize in public someone who they support for public office.

So you don’t believe in constructive criticism? That’s interesting.

I’m not a binary kind of guy. I can like something without having a captive tribal view of it. And I believe that constructive criticism leads to improvement.

You might want to reflect on the fact that our political system is based OPEN debate and criticism. Trump himself does not hesitate to bash political opponents in his own party mind you. An inconvenient, but true fact.

So you don’t believe in constructive criticism?
Big assumption there; and yet another attempt to shift the issue. But if you claim that is your tactic, you should realize it is best given in private.

captive tribal view
A term irrelevant in our discussion but one likely used with anyone who disagrees with you.

Trump himself does not hesitate to bash political opponents in his own party mind you.
Do you not see the two operative words in that sentence?

Most have observed his "bashing" is generally in retaliation of others being offensive on a personal level, that he is a counter-puncher.

And that is exactly what our country needs at the international level what and the R party needs in general. I hope you are being honest when you say you are voting for him.

We are done, only a masochist would continue to debate with you in the absence of a moderator.
