Thursday on CNN, following the announcement of a guilty verdict of former President Donald Trump on 34 counts by a Manhattan jury, CNN senior political contributor Scott Jennings predicted it would favor Republicans in the election cycle.
According to the former Bush administration official, the verdict would “massively backfire” on Democrats by galvanizing Republican support and encouraging fundraising.
“Well, if my phone and the text messages I’m receiving are any indication, every Republican in the country is matter in a wet hen,” he said. “I mean, people who are decidedly non-MAGA, not Trump fans are blowing up tonight saying this case never should have been brought, this is ridiculous charges. It was an egregious use of the criminal justice system. And I mean, I’m hearing people say I had no intention of voting for Donald Trump, and now I am. And then if you ask to Trump campaign, what’s happening?”
“You know, they literally broke their online donation portal because people were rushing to the internet to save their money in the minutes after the verdict,” Jennings added. “So I think there’s a real chance here. it’s going to massively backfire on the Democrats and helped Donald Trump.”

Yeah, who knows

I’d never heard it prior.
I heard it a lot growing up, along with other southern classics such as “squealing like a stuck pig.”
Probably voice to text transcription that wasn’t overseen by an editor who could spell prior to publication.
Not everyone wants to live in the Soviet Union.
Reminds me of that famous old country tune, crying out for revenge and justice, called
“Matter In A Wet Hen”.

A bit of proofreading for Breitbart, madder than a wet hen.
Must be a regional or suburban thing (I was raised in the city, West Coast, still currently in enemy territory).
Everything they say is really about themselves. We are living in Orwellian times.
But too many do want to live in the Soviet Union, so long as they can be the commissars with the power.
Its great to be in the Inner Circle of any Communist Dictatorship.
Its great to be in the Inner Circle of any Communist Dictatorship.
Until it isn’t, and you get the one-way ticket to The Lubyanka.
Let’s face it, Republican voters don’t get all riled up to vote like the Dems get their base riled up with BLM riots and the like. We lost the GA senate seats becuase of lethargy.
This will get high percentages of Trump voters out, which is a strategic positive. Contrast that with Biden, right now the 18-35 age group is not at all interested in voting for Biden.
Jennings works for CNN, yet he has a modicum of common sense. And he showed it. I guess he’ll be fired soon.
Transcript of his remarks was seriously butchered. Taste of things to come for Peter.
You idiots spew your brazen cynicism as though it was a virtue.... It’s not.
You seem to believe it gives you the appearance of astute perception and intuitive thought. The opposite, it’s a dead giveaway of shallow thinking and a superficial intellect.
Someone commented to having written a song called, “Matter in a Wet Hen.” I thought it odd both times.
May the backfire of this B$, destroy the fascists democrats!
You think Merchan was bad. Take a look at Trump’s DEI hanging crew that awaits him on the first step of appeal in New York City, all black woman Democrat judge 1st Judicial appellate court. 96% of black women voted for the other guy last election. That’s why his team needs to consider Levin’s suggestion of trying to circumvent the NYS appellate system and apply for writ of certiorari directly with the US Supreme Court to review it

This has been an ongoing theme in each Presidential election since 2012.
First the IRS and other departments and the Tea Party, then both against Sanders and even more egregiously in framing Trump, then the 2020 co-opt. I’m
Either way it is stupid to throw things to them by default like GA voters did in 2020 Senate races.
