As campus protests—and violent police repression—continue to roll across the country, some unions are getting involved.
More than 2,700 protesters have been arrested on 64 college campuses since the initial arrests at Columbia University in New York on April 18. Encampments have appeared at 184 campuses worldwide. The protesting students are calling for full disclosure of their universities’ finances and divestment from all financial ties to weapons manufacturers and Israel’s war on Gaza.
Unionized academic workers are demanding decision-making power over their work and what it’s used for. For instance, academic workers in the astronomy department of the University of California Santa Cruz have organized to refuse to apply for or accept funding from the U.S. Department of Defense, weapons manufacturers, and military contractors.

I wasn't particularly pro-union before, but now I will look for the union label and avoid it.
The Bastards should be forced in court to watch every single video the terrorists made of themselves committing the most egregious acts of brutality upon the Israelis ever known by man. Acts upon the aged, women and children, infants, those carrying babies, unarmed men hacked to pieces with garden tools, set on fire, medically tortured captives, etc., ad nauseam. Forced to watch every second of it before being loaded up on military transports and deported to Gaza.
Commies (union punks and college punks) have to stick together.
Will graduates still keep funding the universities which allow protests without accountability?
The former use the latter as useful, energetic idiots
Labor unions are a sensible concept that puts balance in the marketplace, unfortunately they have been traditionally used as a front for communist efforts.
Construction trade union workers, generally well-trained, ware often replaced by smaller contractors with the multitude of cheap non-union illegals, 6 to a van.
The former use the latter as useful, energetic idiots
What the latter doesn’t realize is that when the former takes power, the latter will be first against the wall.
The headline should be that high ranking union officials support student protestors. Go ask the rank and file if they support a bunch of spoiled, commmie protestors and you’ll get a rude answer.
Saw a video clip of a NY reporter asking blue collar worker in a safety helmet and vest if he was surpised about Trumps support in NYC, he wasn’t surprised at all. The reporter asked what the guy thought of Biden, and the guy said F*** Biden right on camera.
Gonna be a bad day at the polls for Dems in November.
Best thing I ever did was to get out of it.
Unionism doesn't create wealth. It siphons it off. No union ever has, ever did or ever will create a single job. Not one.
But what would happen if there weren’t Unions?
A lot more! A lot more, trust me.
The PBS Frontline documentary, “Crisis on Campus,” examines how university leaders, some of whom have faced congressional hearings, navigated the challenges of responding to heated rhetoric and division on their campuses and balancing free speech with the need to prevent harassment and discrimination.

Always thought it was the job of a school of any kind to teach, not indoctrinate.
But then what do I know about education today.
Seems the longer kids stay in school the dumber they get.
And more violent.
