Judge Merchan told the jury they don’t have to agree unanimously on what the Crime is Trump committed.

The whole case is an unholy abortion, but Merchan did not say the jury does not need to be unanimous. He said that in reaching a unanimous verdict the individual jurors need not base their finding of guilt upon the existence of the same predicate crime.

The merit of what Merchan did say is questionable, but he did say they have to reach a unanimous verdict.

I think it’s really important that as many of us as possible pray for God’s strength, wisdom, clarity, and perseverance for any jurors who would confront the lies.

If there are 8 rabid Trump-haters on the jury, having to be in the same room with them would be like being forced to read Krassenstein tweets all day, and try to make them listen to sense. Basically that could be a definition of Hell. So we need to pray for any sane person who is stuck in that situation.

I thought alternates were seated?

They don’t have to be dismissed once deliberations begin but they do have to be kept separate from the deliberations so that if they are called to replace somebody the deliberations start all over again in a fresh start.

Merchan required the alternates to stay because they might be needed.

Merchan won’t go to prison and his daughter will be compensated enough for them both to retire in comfort even after he’s properly removed and the bench fumigated...

I would think that a juror just has to state that they don’t believe Michael Cohen.

Probably so, unless by some miraculous intervention we finally see justice done in this land.

Or they could also say that they do believe David Pecker, who said that Trump told him he’d never pay hush money because it will always get out anyway.

He didn’t say that at all. He speculated, his words, that it could happen.

Yes sir.

Ramos Vs Louisiana

SCOTUS ruled that in all state Criminal cases, the Sixth Amendment unanimity requirement extends to all aspects of the Crime. The character of the crime and guilt for the crime must be unanimous.

“All aspects of the crime”… must be unanimous.

It is also the Sixth amendment that provides the defendant must be aware of the crime he’s being charged with and the evidence against him.

Trump’s lawyers went through the trial not knowing the secret second charge until their time was over.

Merchan could care less, this was all decided long ago, and the damage will be done before SCOTUS gets involved.

So, it’s silly to think Medchan is going to suddenly follow the Law.

His mantra is - “Watch Me”

Amen. Agree 100%. I am praying in faith for this “without ceasing”. I’m going big though — praying for TWELVE to be guided into truth by the Spirit of GOD. :-)

Thanks for the correction.

Has anything happened to Fauci, Christopher Steele, Schiff, or Hillary?

He’ll get a $15 Million dollar advance to write a book, and his daughter will be wildly rich.

lol. We do have a great God, who was able to speak even through an ass.

I’ll go for it too - Dear God, 12 jurors struck by the truth like Saul on the Damascus Road - please?

You’re welcome.

I haven’t gotten a dang thing done today. But I did manage to read up on these procedures.

Nothing happens to them because members of Congress posture, talk, use the issues to raise money with and have zero intent to actually take any action. No one is ever held accountable. It is an inside-the-beltway thing.

Yes. I’ve been involved in several suits, one went to a trial. Civil not criminal where the burden of proof is lower. The instructions were much simpler. The jury had to answer 8 questions. The 8th was amount of judgement. They had one holdout on question 3 but by question 4 even the holdout had to concede it didn’t meet the threshold. Verdict for the Defendant.

If there is one holdout, or dare I say even one partisan who secretly thinks this is a sham trial, that person has to play it very smart. Only talk about the evidence not meeting the burden of proof. The state did not make its case. The evidence does not prove conspiracy. There is reasonable doubt. The records were not managed by Trump but by subordinates. The NDA was not signed by Trump. The bills did not detail the use of any funds. The evidence that Trump knew anything is based on a convict who admitted to larceny and stands to gain monetarily from his testimony and the outcome of the trial and cannot be trusted. That kind of stuff.

Dershowitz is doing the right thing, he’s trying to predict the next crazy move, because else fills in the blanks with standard practice.

That’s what happened with Russia and Mueller, everyone assumed they were going to follow standard practice. Instead, they had secret ex-parte meetings with judges, they stopped the Statutes of Limitations, they got the judge to deny the defendants from using multiple defenses, and much more.

The TV is filled with people that believe the Court has integrity and honor. Guess again.

I’m fervently praying about that too. Somebody mentioned the possibility of either Ken Paxton or Kash Patel as US Attorney General under Trump. If Jim Jordan, James Comer, Clay Higgins, and Barry Loudermilk can send some criminal referrals to either of those guys things could get very interesting, very fast.

Like I said, I’m praying with all my heart.

Yes, Paxton or Abbott might be good choice. No one else really stands out for that role. And they have solid experience and I think they are on the right mindset and goals. Maybe Paxton as AG and Abbott in DHS.
