A Ukrainian drone strike on a Russian radar station that can track nuclear missiles has sparked alarm in the West.
Kyiv hit the Armavir radar station in the Krasnodar border region on May 23, damaging the state-of-the-art facility, which provides conventional air-defence as well as forming part of Moscow’s nuclear warning system.
Ukrainian officials confirmed on Saturday that their forces had carried out the strike, saying the facility monitors airspace over the country and occupied Crimea.
The radar station has reportedly been able to track long-range Atacms missiles, delivered by the US to Ukraine earlier this year.
Mauro Gilli, a senior researcher at the Centre for Security Studies at ETH Zurich, said the drone strike had been a tactical success because it will force Russia to redeploy air defence systems and it also put down a marker that no Russian military site was untouchable.

Would such a strike on this station be helpful for a massive first strike on Russia that would end her in one big attack?
Maybe launch a strike on Mir-a-lago first and blame Putin, then 10 minutes later the whole of all we have is sent to knock out the whole of Russia! We win again! Ukraine is saved. One big attack kills 120 Million in twenty minutes. Russia will have nothing to strike back with! China would not launch, they need us to buy their crap—they and the world will be shaking in their boots at our swift reaction. What could Russia do? Maybe get off a few nukes—take out a few burned out US cities that need urban renewal anyway. We can say Russia started it all—who will dare to say anything against us?

Escalation of attacking strategic radar sites is never a good thing since such sites are fragile and easily attacked...in the US, Europe, and everywhere worldwide.
Once an adversary is blinded they assume attacks of a greater nature will happen.
Escalation. It ends with nuclear war.
Get what on? You would be one of the first to go.

Throught this war, every time a Ukrainian shell lands on target, our Ukrainian major media cheerleaders erupt. But when the Russians accomplish anything at all, our pro-Ukranian media yawn it off. So who is actually winning? We probably won’t know for sure until we see an indisputable end.
I would say that by the standards of those with whom I work, my skills are rudimentary. Then I worked with a U.S. government agency consulting a foreign government on radar and realized how really poor their skills were. From what I know of Ukrainians, and it is only second and third hand, I believe that they are vastly talented and patriotic, but I cannot dismiss the possibility that you may be correct.
Yep, the Ukrainians are Slavs, just like the Russians, which means that they have very smart and very productive people, at an individual level (along with really hot women). As to their legendary corruption, that may just be a legacy of the Soviet years, when corruption meant stealing from Moscow.
In any case, what Ukraine does not have are the assets needed to effectively target Russia and avoid Russian defenses...that’s why I’ve been convinced that just about every significant action they take is directly orchestrated by NATO, and especially the ones deep inside Russia.
Lots of elites have been prepping bunkers etc.
Something is coming, the question is just how prepared are we?
Europe has been doing PSA to prepare.
China has been telling their people to prepare.
Russia of course has been drilling their people to prepare.
How much has the United States done to prepare our population, next to nothing. What a few months ago New York sent out a rudimentary nuclear fallout video...LOL.
The Russians haven’t said a word about it. They understand the these are likely targets if they are at war in Ukraine.

The Ukrainians already knew the location.
Media in both the Soviet Union and Ukraine have reported no damage to the radar sites.
These radars are of a modular design, and while being constructed they were operational at only 25% complete.
Even IF this one site was completely flattened, it would not in no way render the Soviets blind because of the overlap provided by other early warning sites.
Well, it’s still a loss for the Soviets.
