Donald Trump addressed the Libertarians’ National Convention on Saturday night in an effort to win over activists who are skeptical of the GOP frontrunner, and turn them away from independent candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr.
The Libertarian National Convention is being held at the Washington Hilton hotel through Sunday with the tagline: "Become Ungovernable."
The former president addressed a rowdy crowd, seemingly split 50-50 between his supporters and Libertarian skeptics.
Trump tried to win over the crowd, saying: "In the last year, I've been indicted by the government on 91 different things. So if I wasn't a libertarian before, I sure as hell am a Libertarian now."
To win over the Libertarians, Trump said he would release "limited government so that the people can have an unlimited future." He promised that "United we will be unstoppable. If we unite, we are unstoppable."
At times Trump mocked the Libertarians in the audience telling them: "Only endorse me if you want to win."
"If you want to lose, don't do that. Keep getting your 3% every four years," Trump said, before pledging to include a Libertarian in his cabinet.

Trump later promised to commute the sentence of Ross Ulbrict, the founder of the darknet marketplace Silk Road who was arrested in 2013 and remains in prison.
Trump’s campaign said his appearance is part of an ongoing effort to reach would-be supporters in places that are not heavily Republican. For example, he held a rally Thursday in the Bronx during a pause in his New York hush money trial. His team was expecting some at the convention to oppose Trump, but hopes he will get credit for showing up and fighting for votes.

I don’t believe the libertarians are accepting his stance on “freedom” since he encouraged the shutdown of the entire nation the last time around.

It was a great speech and put Libertarians in a spot: Get 3% or vote for Trump. He even asked them to nominate him!

It occurs to me that a truly Libertarian view towards the vaxxes should be neither pro nor con but simply anti-mandate. Whether they believe the vaxxes are safe or not, Libertarians support medical freedom, which means the freedom to make both good and bad decisions. They support right to try when it comes to experimental and untested drugs, so if they want to be consistent, they should support freedom to take the vaxx and freedom to not take the vaxx. I’m not sure whether or not most of them actually hold that position.
Nor the lockdown president who wants to saveSS by paying people to have babies. I noticed he didn’t say citizens or taxpayers.
Anyone who has spent time living outside the city sees children who are grossly neglected while their mom gets hundred dollar hair and nail jobs… dad gets boats and ate.
Trump showed a great deal of political courage, going into the den of people who should see him as their leader but generally don’t. As Bongino says, it’s not the people Trump is speaking to that are the actual audience, but the people who are not Libertarian and not MAGA but on the sidelines, who may be persuaded by Trump’s defense of his positions.
In the meantime, Biden makes a fool of himself once again by speaking at West Point. Anything I would say about that would be deleterious to my eternal soul, so I’ll stop here.
Those libertarians that booed are idiots. They’d rather lose.

I was thinking the same thing while watching the speech. A lot of those so-called Libertarians are just idiots or acting like ones for acting sakes. Not impressed!
The language of the comment I wanted to write - but did not - was much more colorful.
There are no libertarians in my sphere. But if there were, I’d be all too blunt about my opinion about voting for RFK Jr (which reelects the puppet cabal).
