This is disgusting. Those cops should be tried for deprivation of rights under color of law. They deserve the rope.

Your thoughts, CM, since you support the police in everything they do?

They threatened to kill his dog.

Since some are ok with their actually killing harmless dogs just threatening should be well within bounds.

Almost $53,000 per hour.
Not bad pay.

Why did this guy not ask for a lawyer? Always ask for an attorney, he could have avoided all of this and been cleared quickly.

You're really going there after the guy was tortured for 17 hours? Because what they did was not an "interrogation."

Per the article:

“After 17 hours of interrogation, Thomas Perez Jr. was in the throes of a complete mental breakdown as Fontana police detectives continued to grill him about his supposedly dead father.

“We just told you we found your dead dad, and you don’t give a [expletive],” one of the detectives said.

Spiraling and looking for relief, Perez Jr. finally broke down and gave detectives what they wanted: a murder confession. Except there was one problem: the victim, his own father, was still alive.

Per the article

“Steering said even when detectives learned his father was alive, they didn’t tell Perez Jr. Instead, they placed him on a psychiatric hold.

“Once they learned this, instead of telling him that ... they 5150 him,” Steering said. “They place him on a civil protective custody hold, have him taken to the mental hospital, and then they tell the hospital that he’s in custody and they can’t have anybody contacting him.”

Back the blue, till it happens to you. I think most cops (not all) are like this.

“Always ask for an attorney, he could have avoided all of this and been cleared quickly.”

Guess you don’t watch much true crime. Just because someone asks for a lawyer doesn’t mean he’ll get one.

Seems like too many local LEOs are taking their lead from FBI now.

Cop attitude. BIL was a cop, quit because he realized all the cops he worked with had the Cop Attitude and he was becoming infected. All of them. You were a cop or a perp. Carried throw down guns (confiscated) wrapped in cellophane for the right occasion when they shot a perp.

This is what is called a “human,” “wasted.” No, what the police did here was wrong, but they did not kill him, either.

Animals are not humans. Humans have rights and are recognized by God aa being made in His Image.

Animals are not.

I’m always glad to help a fellow FReeper understand life and Law.

I knew a Freeper, whose son became a cop. He also thought everyone was a perp. Him and his son, became permanently alienated, and, as far as I know, never reconciled.
