Repub.icans would need to be in power, and hold a super majority and even then not sure they would all vote to convict or even bring an indictment, though the latter would be more likely as they do love to have hearings and pretend they are doing something- but count on them to have “bipartisan committee” beczuse the left will scream about unfairness, and the right will cave, and result in the “bipartisan committee” voting not to convict

Hope im wrong, but we’ve all seen the movie before, over and over

Trump didn’t promote Fauci to Director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious. Fauci was in charge because of his position. At the time Fauci’s reputation was excellent (deservedly or not).

Dr. Deborah Birx, had been one of the White House’s chief coronavirus response coordinators.

And who in the Biden DOJ will indict him? “No reasonable prosecutor” would dare bring charges against him.

FAUCI was the point man all along.

TRUMP never had prior dealings with him, IIRC.

TRUMP got lied to.

Sooner or later Trump had to have realized that and when he did ...he did nothing to stop it. In fact even after leaving office he pushed the shots.

You can defend Trump all along, but Fauci wasn’t President.

"Why did Trump put Fauci in charge of the response?"

Trump put Mike Pence in charge of the response. Fauci was the sitting Director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases. I'm assuming someone in Trump's administration put the list of people together that should be on the White House Corona Task Force, and Trump approved it. Who knows, maybe Pence recommended him. It was only logical that Fauci, as Director and supposed specialist of infectious diseases would be named as a member of the task force. At the time, nobody knew of Fauci's corruption. He was a government bureaucrat, deeply embedded in the system, and nobody had bothered to get rid of him in the 38 years he'd been Director. None of his corruption came out until long after the lockdown was over.

Yes, many people made a lot of money during Covid. People make money off other people's loss and suffering all the time, yet it continues, over and over. Plenty of politicians on both sides of the aisle are making out like bandits with investments in the military industrial complex by sending billions of unaccounted-for taxpayer money to Ukraine for yet another proxy war with Russia. We've been fighting proxy wars with Russia and China for 71 years since The Korean War. Wherever there is an opportunity to enrich oneself with the use of taxpayer money, you'll find politicians taking advantage of it.

Destruction of evidence should revoke the presumption of innocence.

Rand’s got guts. He’s doing this investigation even though it’s very dangerous to do so. I have a lot of respect for him. There are a lot of people who should be in prison over covid.

I’ve seen various speculation on who was actually running the show behind the scenes. Birx was chief implementer and arm twister. Fauci had time to run his mouth on TV, sit for magazine and documentary interviews among other things that emails have brought to light..

Most cases of wrongdoing in Washington result in a lot of talk and virtually no consequences for the offenders. Once the dust settles there will be more hearings about how to prevent a similar situation in the future which will result in more legislation (no teeth, but will give the appearance of them doing something), and of course the solution will require more spending of money we don’t have.

Birx’ superficial grasp of the subject matter and her many logical lapses during updates exposed her as cannon fodder, someone to take the heat and screen from view the reality of the COVID 19 attack on America.

You dissimilate.
Trump did realize that Fauci was disingenuous and that Trump had been lied to.
Trump edged Fauci out of control, added Trump people like Navarro to positions within the COVID response team and in the end banned Fauci from the updates. Pence failed America; he did nothing to uncover the lies & fallacies. I believe he was part of the deception. A snake in sheep’s clothing.

Remember that atmosphere, the fear. For Trump to have abruptly broken with Fauci would have created a panic and instability during a fragile time. Look what the press did when Trump tried to suggest that medical researchers were already using light to kill microbes in difficult spaces such as in the lung periphery. The press gaslight Trump’s words to suggest he wanted people to be injected with bleach.

Trump is neither a scientist nor a physician. Fauci was universally praised by the press & compromised insiders. The deep state kept much information from Trump and fed him lies. Despite the pressing nature of the created scenario and the activities of the deep state/scientific collaborators Trump did indeed suspect and move to neuter Fauci in a relatively short time.

My only regret was that Trump gave the jab pushers some credibility.

IMO Trump’s honor and love of Americans made it difficult for him to grasp the pervasive immorality and evil of the medical, scientific and pharmaceutical communities.
