Southwest Missouri State Rep. Ben Baker announced on Facebook the deaths of his daughter and son-in-law in Haiti.

Davy and Natalie Lloyd served as missionaries in Haiti. State Rep. Baker says gangs attacked the couple on Thursday. The Baker family asked for prayers.

I do wonder who the 3rd person killed was? “Jude”. Another missionary? A local worker for them?

I believe that mission has been in Haiti for 25 years.

We’ve sent enough missionairies that by now there should be plenty of Haitians willing to spread the gospel, without the need for more foreign missionairies.

A friend of mine’s daughter has become involved in trying to rescue Haiti. She is not there now and has had to be evacuated twice when things turned dicier than normal. She still thinks that she can actually affect a change. For some reason, Haiti has a draw on some people.

I think that if the Haitian people had learned to speak Spanish—or English—they might be better off. But I might be wrong.

I am just saying, that foreign missionairies should only be required for a short period of time, before enough locals are ready to take up the cross.
