Might the former President pick the wrong Florida man for his ticket?
Florida’s senior Senator may not offer former President Donald Trump as big a boost as some other potential running mates might … including the current Governor of Florida.
That’s the takeaway from the new Harvard-Harris Poll, which finds voters want Gov. Ron DeSantis and not Marco Rubio on the ticket.
DeSantis leads a host of potential picks with 12% top-choice support among the electorate, including 23% of Republicans, 7% of no-party voters, and 4% of Democrats.
Rubio has 4% support but just 3% among Republicans, 4% among no-party voters, and 5% among Democrats. He trails U.S. Sen. Tim Scott of South Carolina, entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy and former U.S. Rep. Tulsi Gabbard.
Rubio would offer a net boost for the ticket, with 27% of respondents saying they’d be more likely to vote for him and 17% saying they’d be less likely. However, the pollster didn’t test the same question with DeSantis for unknown reasons.
With the electorate at large, Rubio is above water in favorability, with 36% saying they approve of him and 33% disapproving. But that doesn’t even make him the most popular Florida Republican nationally.
That honor goes to DeSantis, at +6 with 43% approval against 37% disapproval.
DeSantis has ruled out being Trump’s running mate at various points for over a year, making the question moot unless the Governor is reconsidering his position amid a thaw with the Trump operation.

Trump will not pick DeSantis. DeSantis is way too pro-active; he is a power-house, and would become a “parallel” president...
Trump needs a subdued discreet VP. Nothing else.
We need as many good governors as possible. DeSantis would be wasted as VP, what would he be doing?

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>.
I totally agree.
Being the VP of the POTUS is a very dull, uncreative hell-hole for someone smart and intelligent. DeSantis should not be wasted on that.
VP is a meaningless position, except if the president has an accident and then evidently has to be replaced by the VP... But beyond that, that’s all there is to it.
Trump needs an attack dog VP—who will get dirty to counter the deep state who will do their best to hamper Trump and turn him into another Hebert Hoover failed President or a new Richard Nixon {Tricky Dickie) Forced by scandal to resign. The VP must be more than a pretty face (Like Pence). He must be a fighter like Ted Cruz or Tucker Carlson.
I still say it will be DeSantis and they will do some juggling over the residency state thing. Who else would be pit bull crazy to carry on MAGA priorities over Ron D.?
All is forgiven. Let’s focus on National needs.
Carson too old. DeSantis yes.
Trump-DeSantis will make many liberal heads explode.
Exactly. Not enough folks grasp that.
Unless there is a sea change coming for real, if we lose Florida, the nation is
Done.
A reporter in the Bronx asked Trump for his top three VP picks. He listed four: Carson, Marco Rubio, JD Vance, and Elise Stefanik. But he also said there were more. Maybe he’s just trying to throw everyone off the trail, but for what it’s worth...
You need help.
YOU posted to ME. I do NOT post to you, due to your vulgarity and childishness, except as a reply to your disgusting posts, to me.
You’ve repeated this “military hatred” LIE, now, twice. Your previous post was removed, when you did this a few months ago.
I have nothing but respect and love for our dear military. I have family who’ve served. I don’t know where you’re getting off on this, but, again .. it is a flat out lie.
You need to seek help. You, for some reason, cannot resist posting to me.
You’ve been asked, repeatedly, to keep your nasty posts to yourself. Yet, here you are, AGAIN.
Trump needs an attack dog VP—who will get dirty to counter the deep state
Agree.
It could even be someone who’s NOT even in politics.
Hmmmm.
KNOCK IT OFF!
