In a campaign stop in the Bronx, New York, former President Donald Trump named some of his possible vice presidential picks, a sign the list may be shortening.
In an interview with News 12 New York, Trump singled out Dr. Ben Carson, Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL), Sen. J.D. Vance (R-OH), and Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-NY) as top options on a list that has continued to grow.
“We have so many,” Trump said when asked about picks for vice president. “You could take people like Ben Carson, people like Marco Rubio, or J.D. Vance. I mean, there’s so many. Elise is doing a fantastic job, but I could go on for quite a long time. We have many people who would do a really fantastic job.”
When asked about the timeline, Trump said he would make a decision “sometime during the convention,” which is when presidential nominees typically announce their vice president. Trump has floated all of these names as picks for various reasons.

Paxton is a wartime consigliere.
No one says so. But if someone is selected who would be a natural heir apparent, then he or she is given high profile and responsibility, then a big protracted primary battle can probably be avoided and the party can consolidate early in 2028
RE: post 63.
The answer is 15. The question is how many vice presidents have gone on to become president.
That’s 1 out of 3. I like those odds. But kindly old Dr. Carson will not beat those odds. Trump will win now if he picks a young veep.
Dr Ben Carson would be an inspired choice.
I would love to see him debate Kamala.
In 2013, determined at all costs (to his reputation as a legal scholar) to help lay the foundation for Ted Cruz to run for the pubbie POTUS nomination, Mark Levin rambled on and on, eventually establishing (not in as many words, admittedly) this definition for U.S. NBC:
Anyone born anywhere in the universe to anyone other than two non-U.S. citizen parents.
” think Trump just amuses himself putting out VP rumors. None of it is serious information.”
Exactly right. Trump is a master of misdirection. Byron Donalds and Burgum would both be tremendous choices.
I like Carson... but I am afraid that he is too good a man to be placed in the VP spot. The Deep State/uniparty WANTS to get rid of Trump, via removal, and while they may accept Carson as the elevated President I think they would go the Agnew way.
First get rid of the VP, install who they want at that spot, and then go for Trump. The VP will be under a lot of pressure to resign.
We need someone who doesn’t care about pressure and is an attack dog. Two extremely alpha men because our national problems are too large for one man himself. One can focus on international problems and the other to focus on domestic.
You would like someone is disloyal as DeSantis who is looking stab President Trump in the back before he gets in the office to get ahead? That’s a delusional thought.
We need somebody who’s not gonna go along with killing Trump.
DeSantis is my governor. Reelected him and immediately he started running for president and left us behind. You don’t think he’s gonna do his best to undermine and criticize the Trump mission? If he gets this VP nomination? I don’t trust him as far as I can throw him. I certainly hope that Trump is not that naïve.
Good one.
I say that if you are a US citizen, you are eligible to be president.
72 y/o veep with 78 y/o POTUS? Not my choice. Rubio has the same state residency problem that could be resolved but likely not in time for election. Stefanik nobody knows. Vance would work but I favor Tim Scott.
Not sure Vance is ready for prime time yet though.
Trump is not that naïve.

Then why has Trump held meetings with DeSantis and put him on the list of possibles? The same question applies to Birdbrain Haley.
“Killing Trump”? Are you a delusional Angry Trumper?
I will not vote for any NeoCon on the ticket under any circumstances.
90 replies before anyone mentions my favorite option as you just did.
Tim Scott.
Joe Biden appreciates your support.
My favorite for sure
Trump is not going to a high tax, dem state. This sh*t is ridiculous. Whenever Rubio, Gov Ron. Sen Scott or another Floridian is named throw out the entire article. In fact, don’t post it. BTW, Ben Carson used to be a Floridian, too. I don’t know if he still lives in Palm Beach Gardens.
yep, agree Carson is the best of those
Rubio is a big no no. I would be so discouraged.
Rubio would be much better than Nikki.
