Guaranteed some judge puts him on the ballot. Peoples right to vote for their preferred candidate is more important than silly laws. This happened in NJ when Torricelli was replaced with Lautenberg well after the law clearly permitted.

Bet the farm on it.

The difference in the New Jersey case is that the governor's office and the state legislature were all controlled by Democrats. It wasn't a judge who ordered Lautenberg onto the ballot; it was a judge who ruled there was no legal impediment to having him put on the ballot.

This is the opposite scenario -- where the legislature clearly isn't keen on the idea of ignoring its own ballot deadline.

“ Peoples right to vote for their preferred candidate is more important than silly laws. ”

There is no such right, at least as it pertains to how State Legislatures appoint their Electors.
