Yep, 10 degrees makes a difference, but 90-anything is still hot. LOL
You’ll go back up a little for the rest of the week and we’ll back off into the mid 80s. It won’t rain all the time and when the sun pokes out, it’ll be steamy.
There might be some severe storms here and there tomorrow and it looks like the brunt won’t come down here. We’ll see how that works out.
Man, IA got slammed by huge tornados. Did you see the one Timmer got on video? Holy cow!
The other Decorah cam never was shut off during the storms and it didn’t get awfully bad there. Nothing like it did at Farmer Derek’s ranch the other day.

I DID see Reed’s video of that tornado. It was something else! He was so excited. :)
I think the other cam was off. It looked like someone had a go-pro from a car going. I think I saw windshield wipers. They were watching the storm clouds. Or that’s what I thought was happening.

Yeah, there’s a thread about FR being slow. It was slow off and on last night too.
I’ve never seen a tornado spit out vortices like that one did. I got a s cap and it’s my desktop wallpaper now. Beautiful, yet horrifying for those in its path.
No, that cam was on. A cam op was moving it around. They’ve done it before, many times, to look around the area.
It, like a lot of other cams, has a “windshield wiper” to knock the raindrops off. The cam at Lake Hood can startle you when they want to get rid of raindrops because the whole housing shakes. I thought Anchorage had been hit with a huge quake the first time I saw it happen. LOL
Ohhhh, ok then. That makes sense. I guess I’d never noticed that nest having a wiper in the past. Or maybe they didn’t...in the past.
It was a very frightening tornado all right. I don’t think I’ve ever seen one that looked like 5 in 1 before. It was sucking in dirt and stuff from a long way from the actual vortex. Really destroyed that little town. There have been a lot of destructive ones in that general area in the past month.

I think a lot has to do with the cam ops and f they think to use the wiper or even know the cam has one. I’ve not been impressed with the cam ops at that nest in a long time.
My hair stood on end watching the video. I can only try to imagine how Reed and the other(s) felt, being so close to it. That was a mutant tornado. It had several mini vortices all the way around the main vortex, hugging it. That was crazy.
I saw a little of the damage to that town on the news tonight. :-(

It was pretty scary, but Reed does love all that adrenaline doesn’t he? And it won’t be long that they’ll all be hunting hurricanes again. Everything I hear is that it’s supposed to be a very active season. Part of it, I think, is wishful thinking on those guys’ part. LOL!
I’d ride with Reed in a heartbeat, preferably in The Dominator. He wasn’t in it today or else he’d have gotten a lot closer. Yeah, he’s an adrenaline junkie. I’m a bit of one too. LOL
I’ve heard a little about predictions for this year’s hurricane season but haven’t looked into it much at this point. The number of hurricanes isn’t as important as the number that make landfall is. Last year was very busy but only one made landfall on the US. The rest were “fish storms”.
All we can do is wait to see how this year goes and hope for the best.
I prefer to see them via YouTube. Up close and personal with something that violent is NOT my cup of tea. LOL! I do know it’s yours, though. Maybe someday you’ll get to chase.
Meanwhile....I’m going to crash and burn. Maybe sleep all night tonight. See ya tomorrow!
Sadly, getting to go on a chase isn’t in the cards. Just have to settle for “riding along” with the chasers on YT.

8 out of 10. Missed Little Joe and did not have a TV for most of Lost in Space run. Been watching Perry Mason lately to see the vintage cars.
