State Supreme Court Judge Juan Merchan cleared the courtroom Monday over a dramatic spat with the defense’s first main witness, Robert Costello, causing a period of mayhem at former President Donald Trump’s hush money trial.
Mr. Costello, a lawyer who once spoke to Trump lawyer-turned-accuser Michael Cohen, seemed to take exception to one of Judge Merchan’s objection rulings, uttering “Jeez,” and then sighing, “Strike it.”
“You don’t say ‘jeez.’ And you don’t say “strike it,’ because I’m the only one who strikes it,” Judge Merchan told Mr. Costello, an experienced attorney and prosecutor.
He also told him not to give him the “side eye” and, his voice rising, asked: “Are you staring me down right now?”
“Clear the courtroom!” Judge Merchan said.

Would that more of us have the courage of those young people.
Appeals Court already says the Gag order that allowed witnesses to attack Trump - and raise money doing it - but silence only Trump, is fine with them.
People holding out for Fairness to fall out of the sky are going to be taught another lesson they fail to register.
He is probably undergoing hormone therapy to become a Her/She.
The judge is a thin-skinned Colombian sonofabatch. New York deserves him.
One of the greatest movie scenes ever was the discussion Sophie had with Mohr, the investigator.

The actors in this scene were outstanding. And really the part of the movie, everyone needs to watch.
Costello stole the Stawberries. Beautiful! Just beautiful!
Well, lets hope...
Costello stole the strawberries. 😏
Too perfect.
Merchan definitely had a Queeg meltdown.
I’m with Diana in Wisconsin on this one - great job showing the similarities ...
Ditto!
It’ll be the lone person who votes not to convict that’ll garner the most money telling their story. Even if it’s a leftist those dollar signs may blind that juror.
Exactly that’s why Trump saving grace🙏🏻 is having one Trump supporter in the jury. Other than that the appeals court will let stand the verdict by these evil bastards!
doesn’t the witness have free speech? shouldn’t be told by judge what he can or cannot say, though I agree the judge has ability to strike witness or lawyer words from the record.
I did not attend the trial, but from what I read, Merchan has very thin skin, and that is not a good quality for a judge. He has the authority to remove a witness from the courtroom, but shouting at a witness is not a good look.
There is no way this jury comes back with a guilty verdict.
WoW! What a loon Freisler was!
I wasn’t aware of that. Back to the drawing board...
Don't give me the side eye.
Don't look at me!
🙏🏻 ….but I really have my doubts. They are so evil my goodness I have never seen anything as evil and blatantly demonic by the judicial branch in my lifetime!
It was a B-17 that nailed Freisler:
On the morning of 3 February 1945, Freisler was conducting a Saturday session of the People’s Court when United States Army Air Forces bombers attacked Berlin, led by the B-17 of Lieutenant Colonel Robert Rosenthal.[38] Government and Nazi Party buildings were hit, including the Reich Chancellery, the Gestapo headquarters, the Party Chancellery and the People’s Court. Hearing the air raid sirens, Freisler hastily adjourned the court and ordered that the prisoners be taken to an air raid shelter, but stayed behind to gather files before leaving. A bomb struck the court building at 11:08,[6] causing a partial internal collapse, and a masonry column came loose whilst Freisler was distracted by his documents. The column came crashing down on Freisler, causing him to be crushed and killed instantly. Due to the column collapsing, a large portion of the courtroom also landed on Freisler’s corpse.[39]
Among the files was that of Fabian von Schlabrendorff, a 20 July Plot member who was on trial that day and facing execution.[40] The flattened remains of Freisler were found beneath the rubble still clutching the files he had stopped to retrieve.
