State Supreme Court Judge Juan Merchan cleared the courtroom Monday over a dramatic spat with the defense’s first main witness, Robert Costello, causing a period of mayhem at former President Donald Trump’s hush money trial.
Mr. Costello, a lawyer who once spoke to Trump lawyer-turned-accuser Michael Cohen, seemed to take exception to one of Judge Merchan’s objection rulings, uttering “Jeez,” and then sighing, “Strike it.”
“You don’t say ‘jeez.’ And you don’t say “strike it,’ because I’m the only one who strikes it,” Judge Merchan told Mr. Costello, an experienced attorney and prosecutor.
He also told him not to give him the “side eye” and, his voice rising, asked: “Are you staring me down right now?”
“Clear the courtroom!” Judge Merchan said.

Very strange behavior by the judge.
If the judge is not just a hot head, he’s trying to delegitimize the witness in the eyes of the jurors.
My sense is the Biden Whitehouse figured Trump would withdrawal his candidacy with all these cases and charges against him. Once he withdrew, they would drop the cases.
With each indictment, Trump’s support went up and Trump has always been a fighter. Biden’s plan backfired massively.
It was about the prosecutions case being destroyed. Merchan when he finally gets around to instructing the jury will basically have to instruct them to find Trump guilty of something. Maybe the Lindbergh kidnapping. This judge is more compromised than Judge Roy Bean facing a mob of angry railroad workers declaring he couldn’t find a law against killing a Chinaman.
That would need more effective if he could keep his cool. Emotional outbursts don’t make him look rational. And the fact that there was no mention of Trump at that moment tells me he sat politely and quietly.
Wonder if this incompetent clown Judge even knows who Freisler was.
Drama queen.
Judges, even bad ones, have the legal authority to control their courtroom.
It is up to defense team lawyers to file appeals of defective judicial decisions. Witnesses have to play along with the judge.

Trump is not on trial for insurrection. He is on trial for a book keeping entry and apparently a federal election law violation over which this court has no jurisdiction so at some point this ends up in federal court and gets overturned. In the meantime this election interference will likely work its magic and get shit for brains Biden re-elect. The poop is not just in his pants.
