Judges, even bad ones, have the legal authority to control their courtroom.
It is up to defense team lawyers to file appeals of defective judicial decisions. Witnesses have to play along with the judge.
Oddly, these leftie judges don’t demand the same decorum from leftie witnesses. Fani Willis comes to mind.

No the judge doesn’t have absolute control over the behavior of witnesses.
He can control the questions asked, he can prevent irrelevant or prejudicial answers, etc.
But can he appropriately yell at a witness for giving him a “side eye” or for rolling his eyes? Should he angrily adjourn because the witness denied staring at him?
Judges behave as intolerant aholes every day of the week. Doesn’t mean they should.
I’d say the judge’s emotional behavior was over the top.
Especially because this was the first Trump witness and it looks like the judge can’t stand it.
Appeals Court already says the Gag order that allowed witnesses to attack Trump - and raise money doing it - but silence only Trump, is fine with them.
People holding out for Fairness to fall out of the sky are going to be taught another lesson they fail to register.
