It’s poverty thinking that is behind it. Every poor black child that grows up to become a worldclass athlete tends to have their entourages. It’s basically a way to say, “I made it”
These female black mayors who do this are basically saying the same thing.

Paul Young of Memphis, who won office on 27% of the vote has this problem fixed. He’s just raising property and school taxes by 28%. After 100 days in office he said it was “the last thing he wanted to do.”, so it’s the first thing he’s doing.
