Ukrainian media reports say the commander responsible for the defense of the northeastern Kharkiv front, General Yuriy Halushkin, has been replaced by General Mykhaylo Drapatiy. The change, as reported by Ukraine's RBK news site and Suspilne, which cited sources in the Khortytsia operational-strategic group, occurred on May 11 as Russian forces pressed on with a large-scale attack in the Kharkiv region bordering Russia.
The reports said Drapatiy will also keep his current position as deputy chief of the General Staff. Before his appointment to the General Staff, Drapatiy led the operations in the Kherson region.

We should all chip in and buy him a fruit basket.
This is going to get worse and worse as the Russians approach Kharkiv. They didn’t make a defensive front like the Russians did near Crimea, so there’s NOTHING stopping Russia from stomping Ukraine in an area where they’re already spread thin.
Zelensky’s pulling men from the south to buttress the north, so Putin will then push from the south towards Odessa. The Ukrainians just don’t have the men, and God deliver all these innocent men who died in a pointless war. They had no choice.
Nope. The Russians can't cross the Dnipro River.
I wouldn’t want to be a general in the Ukrainian army. They don’t have enough troops to command so he would probably have to do most of the actual shooting himself. “Hey where’s the general?” “He’s driving that tank over there.”
”Anyone else want to play? Come on down comrade!”
Why not? Is it really wide and there are no bridges or is there a political reason?
Seventy-two years ago Truman fired Douglas MacArthur. There hasn’t been a notable military firing since. I’ll take the Russian model. Ours sucks.
Zelensky got rid of his best general.
Ukraine’s biggest mistake in this war so far was the counteroffensive which will continue to pay dividends to Russia for years to come.

Well Ukrainians have built defensive lines, but... I expect the Russian defensive lines in Crimea to be better. Here is the reason :
Russia stole Crimea in 2014 and attacked Ukraine in 2022... this means that Russia prepared their defensive lines in Crimea for 8 long years before deciding to go for the rest of Ukraine... That’s a lot of time, but it produces near perfect defensive lines.
The world didn’t react against Russia in 2014... and because of that, we now have near general war in Europe...
He may now be one of a very small handful of men who survive the war.
What makes you think the Russians can't cross Dnipro River.
Game changer.

That's true. Should be easy for them. Shit does float afterall.
“The world didn’t react against Russia in 2014”
You’re back with your warmongering and history rewriting. Last time I looked, Russia stole the Crimea and Ukraine didn’t do a thing to fight back. They didn’t make any effort to get it back since then, until Russia attacked them in 2022 and the USA started backing them. Then like a mouthy little kid whose big brothers shows up, they started mouthing off about getting the Crimea back. As for the “world” not reacting, why should my kids go to help a country that won’t defend itself? I want to know what did besides shoot your mouth off and dog the USA?
Turns out all the Ukrainian border spending went to fake shell companies. What a waste of money!
