The State of Israel marked its traditional Memorial Day on Sunday evening with 620 soldiers added to the rolls of those who have fallen in battle since the state’s independence in 1948.
Memorial Day is taken very seriously in Israel, a small society where almost everyone knows, or is related to, someone who fell in battle over the decades.

True. Every loss in the population of a country almost the size of New Jersey is worse in proportion than in big countries.
Some of the strategies in the many Arab Israeli Wars was about getting Israel to lose more of a percentage of their total population.

I had no idea of the actual number, but would have guessed 200 max. I guess I haven’t been paying attention.

Human life was never considered sacred to a Russian.
I don’t think life is sacred to OUR current regime either. Jobama protects the Muslims and stifles Jews and Christians.
The Gaza invasion force deaths are something around 270.
Around 350 IDF were killed on Oct. 7. Many fought back until the ran out of their limited ammo supply. Some were just overwhelmed by numbers or were startled from sleep too late.
Quite a few IDF killed on 10/7 were female.
Over 25,000 military, police, security teams and guards killed in fighting since 1860.
We started making a turn towards death when abortion was allowed by the state.
Our country is hardly a good example of valuing life to be clear.
