That mouth-watering aroma of fresh food cooking? It may be degrading air quality
LA Times ^ | Grace Toohey

It's been known for years that cooking indoors can taint the air in a home and cause health problems, especially when cooking without proper ventilation.

But a new study found that emissions from cooking may degrade the air quality outdoors as well.

"If you can smell it, there’s a good chance it’s impacting air quality," researchers with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's Chemical Sciences Laboratory recently wrote about a new study looking at the "unrecognized and underappreciated sources of urban air pollution."

here is the money quote:

“If you can smell it, there’s a good chance it’s impacting air quality,” researchers with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s Chemical Sciences Laboratory recently wrote about a new study looking at the “unrecognized and underappreciated sources of urban air pollution.”

Researchers quantified the chemical compounds released when food cooks — a type of volatile organic compounds, or VOCs — along the busy, and restaurant-dense, streets of Las Vegas, finding high concentrations similar to amounts released by gas-powered cars.”

so cooking in your home or cooking outside contributes to smog and low air quality.!

guess the air quality regulators will stop is home cooking and outdoor cooking of any kind..

The smell of tasty food cooking is one of life's true pleasures. As such, leftist scum must somehow vilify it, as they vilify and defile anything and everything that's good, true and beautiful.

On the flip side, to leftists, anything that's nasty, ugly or degenerate is considered to be "good," worthy of praise and emulation no matter how destructive or evil it actually is.

Leftists are lovers of evil. They hate everything truly good. A pox on them all.

NOAA came up with this? Our tax dollars at work. In a sane world, they would not have even funded this, and they would have laughed thus cretins to scorn. But sanity’s ship left the dock a long time ago.

Essentially they want a planet with no living things. Then there would be a pure environment that nothing could spoil or enjoy.

I’m sure glad poop doesn’t smell or they might try to ban it and boy would we all be plugged up then ... but at least we would be saving the planet ... oh wait, poop does smell ... forget about saving the planet then.

Can’t we have SOME pleasures in life without being accused of polluting the environment?

You should only eat raw vegan food. You’ll live a long time (maybe), but your life will be miserable.

My dot-Indian neighbors will be in compliance with the new world order climate control rules. The aromas coming out of their house are definitely NOT mouth-watering. At least to me.

I’ve joked “I suppose though, when the husband drives up he smells it and thinks ‘Yum, she’s making my favorite dish!’”.

It has literally made me gag a few times!

Mother Nature is the biggest polluter of them all. Volcanic eruptions and smoke from lightning caused forest fires send tons of plume and ash into the skies. Also major dust storms that carry dust particles across the oceans at times.

No worries. If there’s no food, there’s no poop.

Of course there’s the rotting corpse.
