Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) condemned Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene’s (R-GA) efforts to oust House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) on Thursday, calling the plan “silly,” “counterproductive,” and “really unhelpful to the country.”
After Cruz was asked on the Real Clear Politics Podcast whether he supported Greene’s efforts to oust Johnson as speaker, Cruz replied, “Look, I think it is silly. I think it is seriously counterproductive.”

Lyn’ Ted needs to STFU. What a wimpy loser.
MTG has Brass Balls. Mike Johnson is a wimpy , weak kneed Marroon!
He likes the Whole Complex, and somebody knows something about Mikey.
He has GOT To GO!!!
MTG is a fighter, a damned good one. She should ne made the Republican majority whip, like The Hammer Tom DeLay.
MTG hog hunting:
“If you’re going to badmouth Cruz, don’t do it on FR!” - Jim Robinson on http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/3687890/posts
It is going to take some time.
But at every turn they should be shamed, ridiculed, despised, impeached whenever possible, and thrown out of office.
Do Ted have any comments about the lawfare being conducted against President Trump?
He wasn’t asked.
The only choice at this point is his dem opponent. Otherwise, it’s 6 more years of Ted.
“He wasn’t asked.”
Figures.
His portion of the interview was somewhat short and focused primarily on his efforts to be re-elected. The question regarding MGT was at the end of the interview and sounded to me as something to round out the interview.
Reliable? To who?! Not Trump, not the American people.
Most certainly yes he was! Once Trump was elected Cruz sang his praise. Just because someone runs against someone else in opposition doesn’t mean they are enemies. Give me a single bill Cruz opposed in all the bills sent to Trump that he voted against.
You must have a short memory. Lyn’ Ted has not consistently supported Trump. I’ve got not time or patience to revisit all that, you can search FR or do your own research, else someone else might take a moment to share with you.
What is this a “bend the knee” moment? Again, I’ll ask, what legislation that Trump supported was ever voted down by Ted? Here, I’ll help you….
None, nada, zilch
