Around my house we take them to the vet and get them shot up. It's a peaceful end for them.

If that's your way though, that's your way. Fair enough, frankly. Not to say one approves but one can understand your thinking.

Her big mistake was in her failure to SSS.

To: Red Badger; anyone

💯

I did the same to one of mine. A pretty border collie bitch. I feel bad now because my neighbor came over and told me she was killing his chickens and I basically called him a liar in so many other words. Then…

I started noticing my chickens …as in 2, 3 even 4 started coming up missing. And laying around dead so I started watching her but could not catch her. Next part is true but hard to believe. One day I was sick and stayed home and my kids who were teens got in the car and drove to school (normally I drove them)and I just stood in the window behind curtains and watched . The dog lay there innocently and when the car left the drive and was out of sight she waited a sec then trotted to the chicken coop!!!

By the time I got dressed and walked out there she had already dug a fresh hole under the wire and had killed 2..she saw me and immediately SPRINTED away to a woods and didn’t return until dinner time.

I didn’t kill her immediately tried to train , even the old trick about hanging a dead bird from her neck. Nothing worked…it’s a blood lust.

So a few weeks later did the deed. Hurt my sons feelings as he really liked her but I won’t keep a pet killing dog around especially when it thirsts for blood so much it raids neighbors houses.

High intelligence in dogs can be used for bad things.

You cannot break a dog of this.

This is just a hit piece on Noem to try to ruin her.

Always was.

Yet many, even here, took the bait and ran with it.

If it was ever in the proximity of children, it was likely dangerous. A friend rescued a pit, years ago. It was a pup. At six months or so, it would try to take on my dog, that was a few years old. Junior would start to stare at him, pick an opening, and go for his throat. He’d be intercepted and instantly body-slammed., with my fog standing over him. That would end it. For 15 minutes. Then Junior would start again, like it never happened. Bad dog.

Once a dog bites a human they are likely to do so again. And that becomes a HUGE liability issue for the owner. IIRC the term is strict liability. They’re on the hook for the next dog bite. No excuses.

What we are seeing is a conflict of cultures.

People who live close to reality, where food is produced and contact with multiple wild and tame animals occurs on a daily basis, understand:

all animals die.

Humans have an obligation to kill animals in a humane way.

Humans must kill animals to maintain our civilization.

Killing animals is done on a daily basis.

Some animals must be killed.

Most of the people in South Dakota fall into the above category. They understand and approve of Governor Noem's willingness to do the right thing, even when difficult. They understand the old saying: A real man kills his own dog. He doesn't delegate it to someone else.

People who live, primarily in urban areas, far from where food is produced, have very little contact with wild and tame animals (most of which are coddled pets, kept for emotional values rather than as producers), often have difficulty understanding why all animals cannot be kept at the same level of support as their pampered, expensive emotional support pets.

They have a difficult time killing a cockroach, and want to tell the producers of their food how to raise and kill animals, when they have virtually no information or understanding of those processes.

They depend on "experts" to do almost everything which needs to be done in their lives, and have difficulty understanding people who must be generalists, and competent at multiple things in order to be productive.

Often, is a desire for the perfect world, in which nothing dies, there is no suffering, and they need never consider their own impending date with the grime reaper.

All she has to do is claim the dog had down syndrome and the left will love her. The despicable left hate down syndrome with a burning white hot obsession.

Whoa. She wrote the book with the dog killing comments. She continues to dig in instead of blowing it off. She’s not going to win the PR war. She needs Trump to kill a dog to take the heat off of her. He would be able to pull it off.

To not understand how this could backfire reveals a serious lack of good judgement.

I thought that if a dog bites a human they have to be euthanized to test for rabies.

She’s simply describing reality.

Maybe it's a reality for gouls like you but not for the majority of us animal lovers. No dog needs to be shot in the head.

Exactly! IF she hadn’t put it down, and the dog bit so eone, the left would be screaming that she knowingly allowed a “dangerous dog” to attack someone.

There is no winning with liberals- to them, record cold snaps mean “the earth is warming”- you can’t win agaisnt such ignorance- the goalposts are always changing- they do not play by the rules, ever.

The left are the “perpetually outraged party”, and no amount of explaining will quench their demonic hatred of the right.

“In any event people have a right to control animals and to control livestock especially in farm areas.”

They do have that right.

They also have a right to publish books about killing a young pup and then attempting to use the book to convince a national audience to elect them to a higher office.

The problem is: that usually doesn’t work.

A neighbor’s chickens, evidently. The neighbor would have been justified in shooting the dog, had they caught it in the act
