Well I agree with some of that. There are Arabs/Muslims there for sure. The thing that bugs me is that they seem to hate Israel more than they care about the Palestinians. Anyone who really cared about the Palestinians would want them to come to peace and build a better future for themselves. They only protest when it’s Israel. They don’t protest when Arabs fight other Arabs. They don’t protest china’s treatment of the Uighur. They don’t protest when Iran beats women to death for wearing their scarf incorrectly.
But also in this group are a large number of marxists who see this as just yet another cause to grasp onto as part of their little Marxist dream to tear down the western society. Some are quite open about it. It’s not about Palestinians to them it’s about replacing “western capital imperialism” and opaque ideologies like that.
All these grievance politics is getting ridiculous. The people in Israel today have nothing to do with whatever happened 75-100 years ago. And whatever happened 75-100 years ago has plenty of blame to go around it’s just that Israel won many wars and is successful while the rest of the neighbors are still poor barely functional societies. It’s the same thinking that drives this talk about reparations. Nobody here has anything to do with slavery. Could you imagine if the people of Japan decided “hey, you shouldn’t have bombed Nagasaki. We demand the right to bomb Pittsburgh today as compensation”. Ridiculous but that’s essentially what they want. “Israel was wrong 75 years ago so we should destroy it today”. It’s all completely regressive not progressive and not helpful. It doesn’t help advance anyone’s interest. And yes, the fighting inside the Dem party is a problem for the Dems.

I have not been a fan of the Clintons, but Hillary has been one of the few who gets it and speaks clearly and mostly correctly on this topic. And Bill Clinton, Heaven knows he tried to move hell and high water to get the Oslo deal signed. Arafat played him for a fool the whole time, tore up the deal in 1999 and went to war with suicide bombers. That pushed the once leftist Israeli electorate who wanted a peace deal decidedly to the right. When Clinton met with Bush at the end of his term he told Bush flat out to forget about Arafat it was all a scam.

There is talk that police could move in around 4 am and clear the entire area. I was watching film on local news of last night’s violence and many of these rioters looked like antifa to me, anarchists who were there to cause chaos and mayhem. This is much bigger than some ‘protest’. Antifa is all about the destruction of civil order.
They were all over the George Floyd riots in 2020.
These people are not students. They’re outsiders and well funded and trained, part of the ongoing destruction of America.

Yes exactly. They handled it all wrong from the beginning. It’s America, protest all you want on the sidewalk outside. Stage a walkout if you want. Go on a hunger strike whatever. At night, go home. Come back tomorrow morning and do it again if you wish. But you few 100 people cannot impede or disrupt the lives of 40,000 students. You cannot block Jewish students or “Zionists” any more than anyone can impede Muslims or marxists.
