Columbia University banned media access on its campus Tuesday as pro-Palestine protests continue.
"Media access to campus is suspended. Campus is accessible only to CUID-holders and essential personnel as a safety measure and that includes media," read an announcement on the university website.
The university also revealed that early Tuesday morning, "a group of protestors occupied Hamilton Hall on the Morningside campus of Columbia University."

If people can hear the actual words and see the actions of the protesters then they might get the wrong idea. People might hear the Marxists screaming “Death to America” or “Kill all the Jews”.
They want to make sure the narrative is these are “peaceful law-abiding protesters” and students just exercising their First Amendment rights. They are not like those awful Jan 6 insurrectionists.

IMHO NYC’s image and that of Columbia are already in the toilet; but, I see your point about Columbia not wanting to see any of this.
They can’t make up their mind. It’s called flip flopping.
My guess is that the media won’t play along. Or at least some in the media won’t.
The protestors will send photos videos to the media and social media.
You must agree this is all a great distraction from what’s happening at the border.

The police have the ability to shut down cell service in an area. I would not be surprised if the Feds have the ability to get a list of all cell phones within an area, and order them shadow banned from social media, so the video doesn't show up, or remotely wipe their phones.
