Northwestern University officials announced Monday that they have reached an agreement with students and faculty protesting against the Israel-Hamas war in Gaza, outlining a plan intended to allow demonstrations to continue while preventing the chaos and occasional violence that has engulfed other campuses across the country.
The deal — believed to be the first between a major U.S. university and Pro-Palestinian protesters —comes five days after demonstrators established an encampment in Deering Meadow, a popular common area on the Evanston campus. Administrators responded to the protest by banning tents and temporary structures, but they did nothing to enact the new policy as they negotiated with protesters throughout the weekend.
The agreement with the Northwestern Divestment Coalition, which Northwestern President Michael Schill announced in a campuswide email, requires the immediate removal of tents and sound systems, as well as a commitment that all protesters will adhere to university policies.
In return, demonstrations can continue on the meadow through June 1. Only students and university staff may participate in the protests, according to the deal posted on the university’s website.

It should have been a simple one-line “agreement”:
“We agree to not let the German Shepherds, tear gas, riot squad, billy clubs, water cannons, and National Guard loose if you vacate by 2 PM.”
Colleges around the country have become training grounds for terrorism. The federal government has been their sponsors by passing out student visas like candy to hordes coming in from the Middle East. In the not too distant future these same “students” will replace the aging Democrats in the federal government.
How long before these terrorists begin using the oldest trick in their book - hostages?

Some real stand-up people running these outrageously expensive junk diploma mills, eh? Anything short of a brutal, complete, uncompromising destruction of these scum is a loss. “Negotiate” my ass! I thought there was far too much “restraint” during the 60’s but at least some of them got killed, injured, or jailed.
You NEVER negotiate with terrorists.
History repeats. Russia’s urban upper clesses and elites financially supported and made deals with the Bolsheviks prior to the fall of the Czar. When the Bolsheviks came to power from 1918-1922 they were systematically liquidated.

Why even negotiate with these terrorists? - who are disrupting university business and threatening other students.
Hope it kills their enrollment and students and their families look elsewhere when shopping for colleges.

To allow this to continue requires far more than just giving in to assuage the feelings of the protestors in an attempt to avoid violent behavior; it requires that the cowardly administrators at the very least tacitly validate the often-unstated, but unavoidably ever-present objective of the terrorist groups the protestors publicly support; that is, the annihilation of the Jewish state and the extermination of the Jewish people.
Far too many people, not just the immoral protestors and the cowardly administrators, forget -- more likely, deliberately ignore -- the underlying fact that this conflict is a religious war ... not a political war ... and political solutions do not, can not and will not work. Be assured that HAMAS very well knows this and is conducting it as such ... which is why they will not negotiate a settlement ... not in any real sense.)
