Kids today can’t get traditional 1st job experiences. No newspapers to deliver, no lifeguard IG positions, no food service. This is intentional. They are learning to be dependent or steal.
My first job, delivering the Courier Express in Buffalo. Had to get them delivered by 6:30 am
Bought my first bike, and Hardy Boys books. Great life lessons
There are food delivery jobs (doordash, Ubereats etc. etc.)
but we gleefully cheer the death of dying paper media don’t we?
smart kids now are making money from tik tok and other digital type of work, such as music production made easy with free digital audio workstation right from your phone...etc
dumb inferior but resourceful kids are selling their own home grown weed on tik tok since you can now easily buy high quality seeds and you can easily learn how to set up a working tent farms with parts purchased from amazon.
dumber kids flash mob store using Instagram, tik tok to coordinate.
My first job at 14 was sorting, crating and stacking empty soda returnable bottles.
