Wealthy white Baton Rouge residents have won a decade-long court battle to split from poorer neighborhoods and form their own city with plans for better schools and less crime.
The Louisiana Supreme Court ruled on Friday that the new City of St George could move forward with incorporation, splitting off from the rest of Baton Rouge.
St George will have 86,000 residents across a 60-square-mile area in the southeast of East Baton Rouge Parish and will have its own Mayor and city council.

I’ve been following this since it started. The new city is planning to go after the tax revenue that they never got all the while the issue was in court. Instead of holding the money in escrow, the City of Baton Rouge spent it.

So with a separate city, how will the super rich whites get their drugs? Will the black gangsters selling the stuff set up little drug stores at the border? Will the whites go into the black district to buy? Just wondering. Rich drug users are equally to blame for drug problems as are the gangs selling it.

A similar development was established just outside Shreveport. Several dozen mostly professional Shreveport residents created a village a short drive from the city, with nice houses, a park, and a small shopping area with shops and cafes.
They grew weary of the crime and danger of Shreveport and moved far enough away to assure safety for their families but close enough that they can commute to their jobs in the city.

Except that those N. Fulton County cities cannot form their own school districts, and will never be able to without major political upheavals. Trust me on this, was involved with it with a nearby city.
