NASA Administrator Bill Nelson is being mocked for suggesting the far side of the moon is always “dark” and can’t explain why China is interested in exploring that part of the moon.
“What do you think the Chinese are trying to get at, at the back side of the moon?” Rep. David Trone (D-MD) asked Nelson at a congressional hearing last week.
“They are going to have a lander on the far side of the moon, which is the side which is always in dark. Uh, we’re not planning to go there,” he said.

Is this guy really that dumb or did he mean dark as out of sight of earth. Like when an operative goes dark,out of sight and silent.

Well, the "dark side" gets as much sunlight as the side we see. And we've had many astronauts get a good look at as they orbited the moon. Nelson's an idiot.
But if our satellites are cooperating with whatever entity is on the other side, (and they must be) they’re obviously NOT going to let us peons know anything about it. And they sure haven’t!

It isn’t even astronomically possible for a moon circling a planet circling a sun to have one side always facing the sun. Even (if not especially) if it was stationary with respect to the planet it orbits. And didn’t we just have a lunar eclipse? Is that side of the moon still dark during an eclipse too, or nah?

GOP Senator (and former Governor) Rick Scott defeated Bill Nelson six years ago.
Nelson would be running for reelection to the U.S. Senate if Rick Scott had not squeaked by him with a 10,000 vote lead.
November 2018 - Scott: 4.1 million - Nelson: 4.09 million
Scott will be 72 years old in seven months.
Anyone know how Scott is polling against the Democrat?
