Almost everything in this world has a duality.

A hammer that is used to build a beautiful coffee table can also be used to bash in the brains of a murder victim.

The problem is, people who can find an evil use of something are equally as inclined to use it for that purpose as someone who sees a benefit out of it might use it for a good purpose.

The concern that "AI" will take the jobs of the PhD geologists is not really a concern. It takes PhD geologists to build and vet the models used in the AI. A better analogy is that the process has moved from pencil and paper arithmetic to a desktop calculator. The algorithms can execute faster, but it still takes a PhD to create the algorithms.
