Khalil al-Hayya, a top Hamas official, on Wednesday told the Associated Press (AP) in Istanbul that the terror group would agree to a ceasefire of five years or more, and agree to lay down its weapons, if an independent Palestinian state were created along the pre-1967 borders.
Al-Hayya has represented Hamas in negotiations for a ceasefire deal and prisoner swap.
In the interview with AP, he said that Hamas wants to join the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) headed by Palestinian Authorty (PA) chairman Mahmoud Abbas, to form a unified government for Gaza, Judea, and Samaria.
According to al-Hayya, Hamas is willing to accept "a fully sovereign Palestinian state in the West Bank and Gaza Strip and the return of Palestinian refugees in accordance with the international resolutions" along the pre-1967 borders.

Spot on. Either do it or they will do it to you. Why do people NOT understand this premise?
Tell your son that those SAME WHITE WOMAN WANT DEAD BABIES AND THEY VOTE FOR MORE DEAD BABIES! THEY ARE PURE EVIL!
There’s a much simpler condition under which Hamass will disarm — and it’s absolutely assured of success, with no possibility of relaps:
THEY’RE ALL 100% KILLED TO DEATH! Along with all their supporters.
>>>...nuke the place from orbit, just to be sure.
WHEW! LOL! For a second there I thought you had gone over to the dark side!
I think the term for what you are proposing is “hunting over bait”. :-)
“an independent Palestinian state were created along the pre-1967 borders”
Not going to happen. Why? Such borders have proven time and time again that they offer no security to Israel, and in particular no security to the Jews of Israel.
The “pre-1967 borders” are a recipe for the destruction of Israel and Hamas and everone else knows it.
Ariel Sharon 2.0?
You might be right. Greg is working on turning UT into a conservative school. But they have to get rid of tenure first as was discussed in a panel I attended. Kid actually interns with Gov Abbott so his time in Austin has been good for him. We shall see how it goes, but he is getting fed up with lefty profs.

And the rejected proposed 1947 UN Partition Plan for Palestine borders
Again, note that the size of the proposed Arab state are considerably larger than the ‘1967 Borders’.
The Arabs said NO! And to affirm their negative, five Arab armies invaded with the expressed intention to annihilate the Jews.
So, from the above you can answer your own question.
The reason the Arabs had said no to any compromise suggestion, is that any such compromise would leave uppity Jews as sovereign, non dhimmis, on Islamic land (never mind that Jews had Kingdoms on that same land when the prophet Muhammed (PBuH) wasn’t even a gleam in his father’s eyes), which is unacceptable to any Arab or Muslim. Land, once conquered by Muslim, should stay Muslim until the end of time (you hear that, Spaniards, Greeks, and Bulgarians?) - Again, note that the size of the proposed Arab state are considerably larger than the ‘1967 Borders’.

Give them Sinai as their new homeland.

Sinai is in Egypt & the Egyptians do not want them.
“For ADONAI has chosen Tziyon, he has wanted it as his home.” ~ Psalm 132:13
There is already a Palestinian state, it’s called “Jordan”.

How great for your son that he is willing to do that while in school
We need him to stay
Can not let them destroy it
Thank him for us

Until they release the hostages in a healthy state, no sense even talking to them.
“Sinai is in Egypt & the Egyptians do not want them.”
Carve out a piece of Sinai, with defined borders and make that the new Palestine. Sinai isn’t as populated as you might think it is and Egypt only uses a small percentage of it for their own economy. Egypt should enable a Palestinian state to be created there and they would be world heroes.
But that doesn’t really matter. This is why. If all the Israelis moved to whatever territory Egypt contributes and all the Palestinians moved into Israel, in five years the territory would be thriving. Meanwhile, Israel would be destroyed by the Palestinians and then they would complain about Israel and want that territory. When Gaza was handed to the Palestinians, the first thing they did was destroy all the greenhouses. They are a self-destructive people, hellbent on seeing the western world burned to the ground.
Again: Egypt does not want them - same as all other Arab Muslim countries. Only the US and Europe want the Palestine death-worshipers.
Further, Sinai is home to Bedouins and smugglers which give the Egyptian army no end of trouble. Any attempts to “carve pout” a part of that territory will result in open warfare with Egypt.

Brother Dave Hunt (gone to the Lord) always said that
those areas were traditionally Judea and Samaria.
