Caitlin Clark continues to shatter records.
But apparently, she has racism to thank for her achievements.
Clark and Nike are in an agreement on a historic 8-year, $28 million endorsement contract that will include her own signature shoe, according to ESPN.
The Athletic first reported that Clark was on the verge of signing the record breaking deal on April 17, although the length and dollar amount were not yet known.
Instead of celebrating this historic deal and giving props to Clark for all she's done for women's basketball so far, one USA Today columnist cried foul because Clark's deal apparently shows black WNBA players aren't be treated the same as white players.
In commenting on Clark's deal, Mike Freeman of USA Today noted that "Clark would join only three other WNBA players with signature shoes: Breanna Stewart, Elena Delle Donne and Sabrina Ionescu. You may notice a pattern there." The three other players, like Clark, are white.
While Ionescu and Stewart's shoes are still available, Della Donne's shoe currently isn't listed on the Nike website.
Freeman argued that it was unfair that players like Las Vegas Aces forward A'ja Wilson, who is black, doesn't have her own shoe.

It really wasn’t bad when it first came out and I loved reading it, but in the last 15 years I guess it has just become unreadable and they changed to format they had that I thought worked. It certainly was a great paper at airports and such. I used to subscribe to it.
Clark is a phenom. Who cares about anonymous WNBA black players? This guy doesn’t understand the first thing about marketing.
People get shoe contracts because they are popular, good players and are in the MSM and they sell tickets and move the needle. The WNBA for the most part has no stars anyone can even think of other than Brittany Griner and she really isn’t that good of a player. She can’t even sell tickets for her team.
What if Michael Jordan had been a bust of a NBA player, that Nike contract would have been Null and Void.
The biggest problem with it is that it turned my fingers different colors.

Ms Clark better have her head on a swivel during games, I suspect one of her opponents will take an opportunity to clock her and try to knock her out.
Wouldn’t be surprised to see one of the ferals try to shiv her right on the court.
I only got copies when they were free at the hotel when I was TDY. I would remove the puzzle page and throw the rest in the trash on my way out the door.
I liked it to read on airplanes back in the 1990’s. Easy read. I saw one recently and it was about 10 pages. It’s about to go full internet. It has to. I can’t imagine anyone paying 3.50 a day for 10 pages of preschool reading.
