Trump Trial: New Poll Reveals How New Yorkers Feel About Hush Money Case
Daily Voice ^ | 04/23/24

As the first day of testimony wrapped up in former President Donald Trump’s criminal trial, new polling showed that a majority of New Yorkers consider the prosecution warranted.

A Siena College Research Institute poll released Monday, April 22, showed that 54 percent of respondents said the trial is “legitimate,” while 30 percent saw the prosecution as a meritless “witch hunt.”

Broken down by party, 77 percent of Democrats and 44 percent of independents called the proceedings a “legitimate trial to determine whether Trump is or is not guilty of criminal behavior.” Meanwhile, 66 percent of Republicans considered the trial a “witch hunt” meant to “interfere in this year’s presidential election.”

“A majority of New Yorkers, 60 percent – including 68 percent of Democrats, 57 percent of Republicans and 50 percent of independents – are paying a great deal or some attention to Trump’s ongoing trial,” Siena College pollster Steven Greenberg said.

The Siena College poll was conducted between Monday, April 15 and Wednesday, April 17 with 806 registered New York voters.

I guess that means that - once again, like your entire posting history - you’re not going to stick around and factually substantiate your claims.

Kinda smells like.... New York.

Without a shred of evidence.

Yeah, like the NY jury that found guilty of “sexual assault” even though the only actual evidence they had was a dress the gal claimed she wore, but that didn’t exist until AFTER the time she claimed the assault happened.

Yeah, there are a lot of idiots who believe claims even when there’s no evidence at all for the claim, and actual evidence against it.

A lot of them in New York, it appears.

Ah, but what is the alleged underlying felony? Bragg refuses to answer that.

I’m not a lawyer and this is not a court.

I’ve supplied you with information you requested and obviously needed and made no claims or arguments regarding the case or charges to substantiate.

Gosh….

Supporters of The Democrat Party Organized Crime Syndicate want President Trump prosecuted.

Anyone who still supports the Democrat party has a criminal heart.

Treat them accordingly.

Tell us the specific statute Trump supposedly criminally violated, according to Bragg.

If you can’t, just admit it: Bragg claimed a Trump crime that he never bothered to substantiate.

I’ll bet 80% of the respondents didn’t have a clue about the laws Trump was accused of violating. No way he gets a fair trial in NY.

The State of NY is saying that Trump falsified business records to cover up hush money payments.

The problem is this:
1) In NY, hush money payments are legal. So they aren’t accusing him of that.

2) They accuse him of violating Federal Elections laws by not allowing the ‘Truth’ to come out....but the FEC has said that Trump violated no laws, as did the Federal Government. Please note: that the lies about Russian Collusion spread by Democrats and Hillary Clinton in the State of NY are still not prosecuted......even though proven to be false and illegally used Federal Government agencies to promote them.

3) They accuse Trump of ‘falsifying business records’ but his signature is only on a single hush money payment. So there is no ‘financial’ records of such falsified records. It’s make believe to say they have ‘evidence’. What they have is a convicted felon liar, who has an axe to grind, ‘saying’ that Trump was involved, with zero evidence.

4)Even if Trump ‘falsified’ records of payments, what difference does that make? Did he get NYC or NYS tax breaks for doing so? Since they aren’t putting Democrats on trial for ‘hush money’ payments it looks entirely partisan to do it to Trump.

This is the most ridiculous case, of prosecuting someone for ‘hiding a crime’ that was never a crime, with no evidence that he was involved with hiding said crime. Crazy.

It's crazy, especially after all Trump has done for that city over the years.

Sorry, but the indictment does not identify the felony crime underlying the allefed misidentification of payments that allow the elevation of the misidentification to felony from misdemeanor - thereby bypassing the expired statement of limitations. But you knew that.

I know you troll on this subject, Fuzz. I also know that every legal eagle I have read on this subject decries the fact that Bragg hasn’t divulged the underlying crime. That means that President Trump is not being allowed to know the charges against him - which is patently illegal in the United States.

It’s not a hush money case. Hush money is perfectly legal.

It’s an “accounting notation” case

No matter how ridiculous the accusations, the fact remains that they have 12 jurors, likely all Democrats, who get their news almost entirely from sources like CNN and The New York Times and who will not be sequestered during the trial. But the judge could order him jailed before they deliberate, so they would get to see Trump in an orange jump suit in the court room and shackled.

Not only did E. Jean Carroll not have a shred of evidence, but her story resembled the plot of an episode on a TV show she likes to watch.

Likewise with Brett Kavanaugh's accuser, who never produced any evidence they even met in high school, let alone that he tried to rape her, but millions of people were ready to believe her.

He does. It’s right there in the link and charging documents.

I looked at the documents and the links within the links, and the only thing I see are the misdemeanor charges. I do not see any reference to the underlying felony that bootstrapped these expired misdemeanors into felonies.

Care to give a clue to what it is or where to find it?

Again, according to the da and indictment and in the link it says state campaign finance laws.

Will he be convicted? I don’t know.

Good point. And I think she also claimed in her book (which came out right around the time she accused Trump; some people will do anything to boost sales...) 3-4 other men of raping her all down through her life.

I honestly think there are a lot of people - especially in blue large cities - who have no understanding of what separates a third-world banana republic from the free world. Or at least if they do they’re gunning to get rid of all the legal protections and protocols that have protected us from being a banana republic in the past.

The poster here wouldnt’ acknowledge but the question I asked her was a genuine heartfelt question that the left should be asking themselves: Is Trump worth trashing our whole legal system over?

Is there a NY statute that makes it a crime to “keep the truth from coming out”? Tell me the exact statute that Trump is accused of breaking?

Also, if there was a NY election crime that Trump committed, then why didn’t Bragg arrest and charge him with that? That should have been the prerequisite for him even being ABLE to charge Trump with this claimed felony.

Until you can give the exact “state campaign finance” statute that Bragg claims Trump violated, you’re being deceptive at best by saying that Bragg did say what crime Trump committed.

Without substantiation, Bragg’s claims are nothing but rumor. That doesn’t cut it within a court of law. Except in third-world banana republic Hellholes.

Like New York.

LOL
PIranha Brothers.
Classic Monty Python

Rogers: I’ve been told Dinsdale Piranha nailed your head to the floor.

Stig: No. Never. He was a smashing bloke. He used to buy his mother flowers and that. He was like a brother to me.

Rogers: But the police have film of Dinsdale actually nailing your head to the floor.

Stig: (pause) Oh yeah, he did that.

Rogers: Why?

Stig: Well he had to, didn’t he? I mean there was nothing else he could do, be fair. I had transgressed the unwritten law.
