The 30 “Republicans” who voted for H.R. 7888 were: Barrasso, Boozman, Britt, Budd, Cassidy, Collins, Cornyn, Cotton, Crapo, Ernst, Fischer, Graham, Grassley, Hyde-Smith, Kennedy, Lankford, McConnell, Moran, Mullin, Murkowski, Ricketts, Risch, Romney, Rounds, Rubio, Sullivan, Thune, Tillis, Wicker, and Young.
In the end, the bill received the 60th vote it needed to pass just before midnight. But in a twist, after all the urgency, the Senate kept the vote open for more than 40 additional minutes to accommodate Senator Marsha Blackburn, Republican of Tennessee, who finally showed up in the nearly empty chamber and added a “no” vote.
The votes against it came from 17 Democrats, 16 Republicans and 1 independent. Note Tester and Sherrod Brown, up for reelection, voted against it.
The U.S. House on Friday voted to renew the FISA government surveillance program on a 273-147 bipartisan vote.
For sure,the rats are slick enough to get Johnson to add in so much that we need its hard to deny. If these bills were voted on one at a time it might be a different story.
