WASHINGTON, DC–Reps. Byron Donalds (R-FL) and Chip Roy (R-TX) slammed Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) for violating the Hastert Rule after the $60 billion Ukraine aid bill passed on Saturday without a majority of Republican support.
The longstanding rule directs that a Republican speaker will only put legislation up for a floor vote if a majority of the GOP conference supports it. The rule is meant to prevent a GOP speaker from colluding with Democrats to pass bills. But most of the GOP did not back the Ukraine bill.

For sure.
Might want to change the name of that rule.
“..millions of Palestinians [There’s only 2 Mil in Gaza] face starvation, lack of clean water and disease outbreaks...”
Hamass’ fault.
Who thinks $9 Bil is going to go to anything but more arms and tunnels to get them to rain down on Israel?
But GOD!
Clearly the GOP is giving the house to the dems, this means Johnson has a shelf life and so sold himself to do his part to (1) do what the entire uniparty wants to do and (2) make it look like the rest of the GOP isn't in support of it when we know they've supported every one of these until now, and now that polls are against them they suddenly are shocked that somehow the GOP colluded with dems to do it, but not them, no not them.
More like a F’N TRAITOR!
Just maddening.
Awwwww....hand me down my little violin. These are the same animals who voted for Hamas for their government. Who actively participated in the October 7 atrocities against Israelis. I'd love to see every single one of them eliminated, as a cancer to mankind. But no, these total idiots have to GIVE them $9 billion to buy more arms with! Anyone who thinks it will be spent on "humanitarian" purposes is a total fool.
Johnson is a bought-off EUNUCH. A traitor. I spit on him.
Hakkim Johnson.
Are you aware Trump supports Johnson in this?
"This included $17 billion in defense aid to Israel, and some $9 billion providing humanitarian relief to people in Gaza as well as other war-torn regions (the final decision on allocation was up to the White House, with analysts expecting roughly $2 billion would go to Gaza)."

Sunshine is good.
No doubt the EU will throw money at Hamas, as will Muslim countries, but not to the level of the EU. If true, $2 billion from the US would be pocket change.
Everyone of them needs to be voted out.
I know it is too late to primary them in a couple states, but it is still possible in the vast majority of states. A strong lesson needs to be laid down.
I’m not opposed to loaning Ukraine some money if Europe is also equally involved. However, it would be contingent on funding the border wall and sending illegals back.
All this is doing is making more politicians rich.
Yep, and it's an easy way to get ongoing campaign donations from those benefiting from taxpayers magnanimity. Oldest fundraising trick in the book and a nice way to ensure post elected office board positions.
In fact, I suspect they are really hoping Russian tanks pull into Kiev before the election. They know it would be the Number One way to kill MAGA.
