While reading One Way Back, the new “memoir” by Christine Blasey Ford, the accuser of Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh during the 2018 confirmation hearings, I was reminded of a frequently reoccurring scene on the show Cops: A perpetrator has been caught red-handed doing something wrong—let us say he’s got drugs in his car. As the police question and arrest him, the suspect proceeds to talk about everything in the world except the drugs. He was at his brother’s house. His dog is missing. He works afternoons at his job. He talks, incessantly, about absolutely anything but the bag of cocaine in his trunk.
So, it is with One Way Back. Christine Blasey Ford is an expert at not answering basic questions about the singular thing that made her famous while going on mindlessly about other things: surfing, her family, and what it’s like to stay in Oprah’s house.
Of course, how could Ford respond to basic questions regarding her attempted upheaval of the American political system? Doing so would require her to unmask herself and the plot in which she was involved.

As Senator John Kennedy put it when he saw the final FBI report, it’s time for Ford and those who still buy her crazy tale to “put down the bong.”
I would feel sorry for her in that she is a weak vulnerable woman, but she allowed herself to be used in a political circus which caused personal harm to others. And she has reaped financial gain for the effort.
entertaining mental illness once again The public that believes this sh## is just as mentally ill
I have less than zero sympathy.
She is, at heart, a shallow and dishonest person.
I’ll save my pity for those that are a try least trying to be honest and do the right thing.
At least trying...
I know it’s wrong to judge a book by it’s cover, but there is just something about her that reminds me of so many other women of a certain type, who are post menopausal age (not that this is the cause, don’t get me wrong) professional/functional but riddled with anxiety and emotional disorders, not just paranoid but harbor delusions of persecution (usually also a hypochondriac), who believe they are a victim, but can rarely ever place any blame on a perpetrator because they have lived a rather privileged (albiet liberal) life, so they adopt all the class and group victim-think that is so pervasive.
She wanted Kavanaugh to be a bad person BADLY, even though deep down she knew it was wrong, and I am guessing the defense mechanisms are complex and impenetrable.
The thing is she is married, she had two children, she has a tenured academic job.
She is a lot better off than the lonely cat ladies with gig jobs, but she still has a huge sense of entitlement and victimization.
Can she not be sued by those she slandered?
yep
I’m no fan of Kavanaugh, but what she did to his family and those little girls makes me hate her guts.
She has a fake entitlement mentality, as do most people who claim it. She's like Lucille Ball's character who whines until Ricky gives into her demands, then immediately is just fine.
I believe that people lying about others committing serious crimes (rape being THE prime example) should face a harsher sentence that the accused would have been given, had he actually committed the crime. Of course, this kind of involves proving a negative, but if it can be determined that they were lying, then suffer the penalty.
And how much of the tale of this year’s fruitcake, E. Jean Carroll, was modeled after what Ford got away with vs Kavanaugh? Sexually assaulted but can’t remember the year? So traumatizing that you haven’t had sex since, but you can’t remember THE YEAR, let alone the month or the day? And a jury convicts on this level of horse shit?
I know Mark Judge is a writer, but I did not know how good a writer he is. He describes what has happened succinctly and with great clarity.
She’s married with children??? Does she not realize how lucky she is???
