All things considered, National Public Radio represents the left wing of American journalism. Conservatives, of course, have known that for years. It took a veteran NPR editor with an ax to grind and some resurfaced tweets to drive home the point that the “Fresh Air” of public radio stinks with leftist bias.
“Too many media outlets push their slanted agenda instead of reporting the news. National Public Radio has a track record of promoting an anti-American narrative on the taxpayer dime, while suppressing dissenting viewpoints,” Good said in a statement to The Federalist. “My legislation would ensure no taxpayer dollars are used to fund the woke, leftist propaganda of National Public Radio.”
Sen. Marsha Blackburn, R-Tenn., is weighing a number of options to sever federal funding to the Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB), which doles out grants to NPR, Fox News reported this week.
“The mainstream media has become obsessed with doing the Left’s bidding and taking down strong conservatives — and NPR has led the pack,” Blackburn said in a statement to Fox News Digital. “It makes no sense that the American people are forced to fund a propagandist left-wing outlet that refuses to represent the voices of half the country. NPR should not receive our tax dollars.”
NPR Senior Business Editor Uri Berliner, who was with the network for 25 years resigned this week after he was suspended for a tell-all essay he wrote about the leftist hivemind of NPR.
So the question is: Why is the American taxpayer paying for this Pravda?
Some lawmakers are saying enough is enough.

Public broadcasting serves no purpose and its much vaunted “educational” content is available from a internet streaming. Let public broadcasting seek their funding from other sources such as, subscribers, telethons, foundation grants and George Soros.

One time NPR had a feature where once a week, a 7 minute profile of a conservative figure would air on Morning Edition. Listeners complained. So tolerant that they couldn’t bear to give the other side 7 minutes per week
No, the “conservatives” will say we can’t defund it because where else can they listen to classical music or listen to that stupid car show.
NPR stations take advantage of being non commercial educational. Tax breaks; no ads run but people donate money and corporations plug themselves as donors. (Stations like
“K Love” Christian radio do same thing re donations)

Certainly want them defunded. The days of Buckley, Julia Child, This Old House, and MacNeil/Lehrer, as some leavening of open debate, useful instruction, or apolitical news that allowed them to claim they weren’t actual Communists have been gone for decades.

Why was this network with government funding created?
If it’s not living up to its intended purpose then government funding should be ended.
But the network needs a chance to publicly defend itself before it is defunded.
Also, regardless of the controversy, our government needs to be looking for ways of reducing spending.
Anyone else think that the NPR stink is the latest “Get the base mad, get them contributing, and then do nothing” campaign?
