House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) made history by relying on minority party votes to advance a foreign aid plan, marking a first in recorded history. This decision, occurring just before midnight on Thursday, has sparked controversy among Republicans, with some questioning Johnson's loyalty to the party. The move has raised concerns about party unity and the potential implications for future legislative decisions.

....I believe the term Uniparty is pretty accurate...I really don’t see many differences between Republicans and Democrats these days...
Sorry, but I am not ready to permanently turn over power to the neo Bolsheviks. And I vote in the primaries and I vote for the most conservative candidate. The communists over time changed the Democrat party from one of traditional liberalism to socialism lite to quasi marxism. They didn't take their ball and go home because they couldn't gain control; of the party back in the 60s and 70s. They hung in and changed it. We need to do the same but from our values.
As for Trump, I vote issues not for the person. Trump advocated most of the issues I agree with so he will have my vote this November. Trump made his share of mistakes as President but overall it's a no brainer come November 5. It's downright scary. If they get away with persecuting and throwing him in jail, God only knows what they will do next to us.
That’s crazy talk.
Vacating the Chair has absolutely nothing to do with the local voting that will bring in Trump and more House and Senate Republicans, this fall.
Well, that’s just wrong.
That was hogwash, because we will have more conservative House and Senate members voted in, this Fall.
The primaries shifted candidates we want into the main election.
The House Speaker can be easily given to the Democrats - if that actually could happen - and we will again get the House, this year.
Don’t not vote for the better option, for any office, please.
“Party unity” gives way to the UniParty. Johnson was given a grace period to learn the ropes. Unfortunately, he has chosen to grab the wrong ones on too many occasions.
“Conservative Republicans comprise no more than 10%-15% of the House.”
We could quibble on the percentage, but your statement is demonstrably true. However, one would expect more conservative votes in an election year to fool the yokels back home. I’m not seeing it, though.
Republican is just a wing of the Democrat party.
Come back?
flashy looking traitor
imho
aka
cheap whore.
May God support and protect Speaker Mike Johnson.
May all “haters” be silenced.
Johnson needs to be removed. From House. Maybe more.
There is no better option.
These yokels say one thing during the election and do the exact opposite once elected. Nope. I'm done. The ONLY reason the GOP still exists and gets away with it year after year after year is because there are still morons out there voting for them. Let it all fall to hell. Then we might have a better shot at righting the ship. Ain't going to happen otherwise.
In theory I agree. But my point is that if you give Dems control of the house now, teh election will be mute. For example, they can vote not to certify Trump because they will deem him an insurrectionist. You give then control now, this summer, of all both legislative branches and the exutive branch we WILL be screwed over.
You’re fighting a battle that doesn’t exists. The Conservatives aren’t in power now and it’s not even close. If SCOTUS gets packed it’s because the Senate let’s it happen, no other reason. They have had plenty of ways to stop it. They choose not do. To my mind, I would prefer Jefferies to Johnson. The Repukes like fooling their constituents and when they are not in power they will vote AGAINST things. I’m fine trying that strategy. They are probably more likely to vote against a bill that is proposed by Jefferies than one proposed by Johnson.
