A longtime Lancaster County Republican is experiencing something he’s not used to, a primary challenger.
House Minority Leader Bryan Cutler (R-Lancaster) has been a major force in Pennsylvania Republican politics. His resume includes Majority Leader and Speaker of the House; by every measure a success for a man not yet 50.
But not everyone is amazed by Cutler’s success in the 100th District.
“It’s very evident that people want a change here and that they want to support a candidate that really is one of them,” said Dave Nissley, a small business owner and Cutler’s primary challenger.
Nissley says he wants to unseat Cutler because he believes he’s out of touch and a Harrisburg insider.
“Is this party going to be a party of the people or is it going to continue to be a managed decline by the establishment or the ruling class in Harrisburg,” said Nissley.
“I think is really a choice between, do you want experience that knows how to get the job done or did you want something different,” said Cutler.

PA Ping!
Cutler was a no show for Trump in 2020 election. The people here were pissed off and still are. He took the big money and did what he could to set himself up for big payday. It is time for a change. Term limits is why I’m voting for Nissley. I talked to him and told him ,if we don’t like what he is doing in 2 years, he’s OUT.
Super-safe Republican district; I don’t think any Democrat is even running.
However as of the last report, Nissley has barely 10% as much funding as the squishy incumbent. Maybe in a small state House district where you only need to reach at most 30,000 likely voters, the financial difference won’t be as important as it would be in a higher-profile race.
We can term limits politicians. Just vote them out... It shouldn’t be a lifetime job.
Cutler is a sellout rino
He stopped PA from passing voter ID
It would be very shortsighted to trade a relatively conservative House member who is a Republican Caucus leader for a very conservative new member with no seniority or pull in state government. But ultra conservative voters in PA are well known for shootings themselves in the foot on a fairly regular basis.
