California-based fast food restaurants have hiked the price of menu items by as much as 8% in response to the $20-an-hour minimum wage law that went into effect April 1.
....
A typical Chicken Burrito from a California Chipotle will now cost $10.25, while the average price of a Steak Burrito will set you back $12.
...
Wendy’s also instituted substantial price hikes on staple menu items

Libtards love $8 French fries and unemployment I don’t think this will be a problem
Those $5.25 sauce packets for fast food are hard to take. Feel like eating chicken nuggets straight and getting used to it.
(Kidding——I think.)
It’s Kali, they deserve what they get.
I have been watching Masterchef from different countries that are many years old. They bring on Expert Professional Chefs. I frequently search where they are now and what happened to their restaurant. Most end up being closed. Many before COVID.
One Judge from Masterchef Australia ended up in his own scandal for not paying employees properly. George Calombaris.
The business is so tough. Paying some ridiculous wage in California is not sustainable for fast food.
The good news for me is I wouldn’t eat this swill even if it were free.
i wonder why mcdonald’s stock price has consistently go up in the past 10 years. $44 in 2007, and $265 now.
This $20 minimum wage fiasco is how the far-left, ass kissers make way for their illegal alien “street taco” trucks by making it too expensive to eat in an AMERICAN fast-food joints. The RATs just looking out for their voter bass illegal amigos who don’t have to pay anyone $20 bucks an hour. Californiacs just getting what they voted for. We’re not in America anymore, Toto. Gruesome Newsom is the Official Californiac Stick it to Americans Meathead.
I suspect that these are “introductory” price increases. I think they are insufficient to compensate for the forced wage increase and thus just the first stage. Bad PR to do it all at once.
How they did it? Why not just say they did it? How is they used a spreadsheet and reprinted the menu.
California ‘liberal elites’ can afford it - and besides it keep the common people out of restaurants (unless they’re serving elite diners) so it’s a twofer for liberal elites.
The elites pay a little more but the wait for a good table is less with the middle class thrown to the street. We have Gavin to thank...
Nobody seriously thought menu prices wouldn’t increase vastly with this new minimum wage, right? How could these businesses run at a loss?
They want us dependent on the government for food and so are out to destroy other sources.
I wouldn’t eat ANYTHING from an illegal alien street vendor.
You have NO clue what they put in it.
Well, the number of stray cats and dogs running around has gone down.
We went to McDonald’s today (out of necessity) and we got 2 plain hamburgers and one cheeseburger. (from the cheap menu). No drinks and no fries. Cost $8 and some change. The burgers sucked so bad, we will never go back. AND their chocolate milkshake machine was down! Every single time!!!
Are Chipotle and Wendy’s that crowded that people have to wait for a table?
That’s a good part of it. Those food trucks are all over the place now, and near me they have a certain spot they set up in every day. They’re making a living, it seems.
Fast food places will just have to raise their prices so fewer common people can afford to eat there. Gavin knows price increases don’t hurt ‘elties’ and those are the only people he cares about.
Gavin should have made the minimum wage a hundred dollars an hour - then the fast food places would all go out of business sooner.
Gavin’s getting grocery and drug stores to leave and upscale stores to close their doors due to smash and grab, he’s now ending ‘eating out’. He’s such a democrat... such a jerk.
We go to Chick Fil A occasionally and the prices haven’t gone up.
